anti_americaJul. 12th, 2004 05:36 pm i'm sorry but...

i'm gonna have to leave this community. the idea was great, but sadly, it just isn't taking off. i'm finding more interesting communities than this one, even though this one does have potential, it just isn't working. good luck.. =D

Or... kidney stones, yes! or.. no.. how about.. lunch ladies? they smell funny dont they? ..no offense to anyone reading this who might happen to be one, but you know.. shower pLz!!

No go? Well how about this: This teenager was wearing one of those spikey necklaces.. you know, the ones that look like death disguised as jewelry? Well, he got in this car accident and he didnt get a fracture or any injury from the wreck, but he almost bled to death because of the stupid leather collar. And he had a matching bracelet, too. True story.

I'm 16 years old and have been dating my boyfriend for one year and 9 months. We have a very serious relationship, despite our young age. Sometimes that's a good thing, because it adds stability to an otherwise hectic life, but it also makes things hard when i just want to act my age! By "acting my age," i mean acting like a 16 year old--crazy, drunk, partying. Sometimes i feel like i'm missing out on my teen years by being so obligated. But on the other hand, i really do love him. (studies show that teenagers' love, even though its sometimes less founded than adult love, is just as true and strong.) I feel so lucky to have found someone who's so special and right for me at such a young age. It's the sort of thing that people spend all their lives looking for, and i've already got him. But then, im presented with the challenge of keeping him throughout the crazy teenage years.

What do you guys think, and what are your own experiences with these problems?

isn't it funny how people spend so much time and energy trying to be something? i mean, "Goths" spend time and money trying to look eyeliner-y and kind of scary. "Preps" spend so much time in Abercrombie trying to look "cool". This goes for relatively every social group. even the misfits spend time trying to either stand out or just look.. un-trendy. its really sad how far this has come. because if we just bought the clothes we liked and acted like ourselfves, life would be a whole lot easier.. dont you think?

ok.. some other people need to post. seriously.

you know, the war that's been going on isn't really about peace.
first of all, as Emily Gay's profile says "Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity".

but seriously. its about respect. its about making sure that other countries know that America can nuke the hell out of them if they threaten us.

and it's stupid. i mean, tremendous waste of life, time, and money has been spent doing something that we really didn't need to do. first of all, there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. second of all, what gives America the tremendous power to go in and kill a bunch of innocent citizens 'cause we dont like their government. were no bigger than anyone else, we dont have any more responsibility, why are we taking it on ourselves to change this? and third of all: it's not the people. we shouldn't be killing innocent Iraqis. think about if you were an Iraqi. it's not your fault, it's your leaders'.

in conclusion: war. is. stupid. it seems like such a primitive concept to me.. something from the past, for people who didn't know better. waste of lives, and altering of others, is not needed. war changes people. i think about my brother Luke.. he's so fucking carefree. if he went to war, that would change. he either wouldnt come back, or he would learn about so much shit.. it would just be bad.

thinking about past wars, especially the Civil War.. all those casualties, it shows you how little we matter. and how much the generals and "big guys" know that we matter very little. soldiers are just their fucking pawns. it's not fair. it's not right.

okay, i'll stop now.. im going off on a tangent.

one last fact: for every 20 men killed in Iraq by "the enemy", there was one suicide.

I was reading a couple of articles recently about the rise in teen suicides. And it got me to thinking - what could compell people my age to kill themselves? I mean, life as a teen blows, no doubt, but death and mutilation really don't seem like the ideal solutions. I'm not condemning anybody, I just need some kind of insight as to what problem or problems could be so monumentally huge that the only way to solve them is by maiming or killing yourself.

And keep in mind, feel free to post whatever you want whenever you want. I'm just posting a topic to get it moving.

Hey, all. I'm Courtney, and Graham thinkincircles and I will be maintaining this community.

This community has two main purposes:
1. To post random thoughts. On anything. Who cares if they're crazy?
2. To debate. Politics, religon, whatever the heck you want. Opposing veiwpoints are good.

So.. thats about it.. get started!
