the scary barking ball.

hey everyone, i just got nintendogs today. about a month ago i got my ds and decided that i would probably never want nintendogs because games with menial tasks really aren't my thing. but then i fell in love with the videos on nintendogs.com's kennel and, well, here i am. i now own the dachshund & friends version, and a tiny female shih tzu named dido (named after the character in the aeneid). she's great, and i am having a lot of fun playing with her and teaching her tricks, like "play dead", which is probably more of a "lay down", but i'm morbid.

anyway, on our walk past the park we found this ball that makes strange noises when you throw it. she's pretty frightened of it - does anyone know if the nintendogs eventually get over this fear? i mean, should i sell it if she isn't going to play with it and just bark at it from a distance, crying and putting her tail between her legs? i know from experience that my own dog has had issues with toys like this, and then he never wants to go near them. help a newbie out! :)

edit: she seems to have taken nicely to it after a couple of days of trying to get her to play with it. i guess the confidence she gets from longer walks helps with these issues?

Hi, I got my Nintendogs last Friday. I chose the dachshund game thinking I wanted a beagle...but fell in love with a golden retriever...Ginger. She's cute and sweet. She has a red collar. (bows weren't her style)

I've been playing several times a day since I got it.
We haven't done so hot on obedience yet, but she's placed 2nd in the Masters level of the disc competition and 1st in the Beginner class of Agility. I'm very proud of her and not very worried if she can 'roll over'. Should I be?

I have some questions...will she get bigger or will she always stay a puppy?
What do the trainer points mean? What makes it go up?
And what different ratings are there for the trainer. Like, a few days ago it said "Adoration" now it says "Archie-level" What does that all mean and is there a list of the different levels?

Anyway, I hope these are typical questions that all beginning players ask.

"difficult and stubborn" puppies vs. "easy and patient" puppies

Hi everyone! I'm new and just got a nintendo DS and, of course, nintendogs (lab & friends). This game was much more interactive and fun than I thought it would be!

I looked through the memories and didn't manage to find the answer to this, so I apologize if it's a repeat question. But:

If you purchase a puppy that's stubborn and generally more difficult to train, compared to friendly puppies that are patient and get attached to their trainer easily, do you get more trainer points when you teach it tricks, etc. etc.???

Thanks in advance!

So. I got another copy of Nintendogs a while back, a few weeks, I guess.
Anyway, I managed to lose the thing almost as soon as I got it. Darndest thing; I was walking across the house with three games and my DS. Everything else made it safely but Nintendogs vanished. Today I found it again.

The puppy had found it first. It looks horrible. On the back there are two big areas where it's been chewed up pretty good - in a few tiny spots you can see the green chip (?) inside the casing. However, it wasn't bent out of shape and the little... read dealy at the bottom wasn't shredded, so I tried it.

Miraculously, it WORKS. Max, the boxer I got before I lost the game, was still there, although starving, thirsty and filthy. I fed and watered him, washed him and walked him and the game didn't lock up, so with any luck it'll KEEP working.

Those suckers are tough!

Selling my DS.

It's a sad thing to say, but i'm selling my DS along with Nintendogs and several other games. I just never have the time to play anymore and there's no point in such a nice DS sitting around and collecting dust. I figured I would let you all know, so that if anyone has a sibling or friend that was looking for a cheap DS (with some extra games), perhaps you all could pass the word around. It's one of the MarioKart special edition red ones, and it's in great condition with spotless/scratchless screens and just a few minor scratches to the casing.

Thanks. :)

I got the outer space room. Whoohoo! That was a lot of money. The room isn't half bad either. I also have Jack Russell, Dalmatian, and Labrador. So now I have to go and earn money for the Seashore room lol.

Good news! I found the promise ring a few days ago (which I sold immediately) and tonight I found the gold bar and the jack russell book at the same night!! :) Now all I want to have is the real tiara (not the new year one) and the fireman's hat. I wonder when I will get a gold bar again lol. That one is worth 2000! Which is really nice considering I'm trying to save up for the outer space lol.

Got some news. :) I entered Aeris, my siberian husky again to the Disc Competition Championship today, first of all she won 5 consecutive 1st wins in a row and her highest score was an astonishing 56 points!! I was so happy when she got 56 points. I was wondering if she could make it to 60. I'll certainly try :)
