Miracle's 8th Contest

Hey, everyone! This time around, we're going to have a double contest~ For those fanartists out there who were itching for a fanworks contest, we've decided to incorporate that into our usual fanfiction contest. :] I hope we get a lot of submissions for both!

FANFICTION

♠ THEME: The Future.. Interpret that as you will~ Be creative as you'd like!
♠ ENTERING: To keep voting fair, we request that you submit your entry to us at miracle[dot]mods[at]gmail[dot]com. We will post them as they arrive, of course leaving out your name/aliases for the sake of anonymity. Please remember to include your LJ username and html coding. :D; We're a little lazy and won't have time to look for all the words you've italicized/bolded/whatever.

The logistics...

♠ RATING: Open. From G to XXX, your story can be as risque or innocent and cutesy as you choose it to be. Just remember to put a warning somewhere (like the lj-cut coding) if it's not work safe.
♠ PAIRINGS: Entirely up to you, as usual. You don't have to have a pairing at all!
♠ LENGTH: This contest is limited to one-shots. You may feel free to continue with your submission after the contest is over, but whatever you submit should be able to stand on its own.
♠ No old material, please. So it's all fair, we'd rather you submit something new than recycle something old. It puts those who have to start from the beginning at a disadvantage otherwise.
Only one work per author and vice-versa. This means no joint writing!
When we say HTML, we mean basic HTML. That doesn't mean type your entry in Rich Text Mode, click the HTML tab, and then copy and paste all of that to us. We just want simple things like <*i> and <*b>. If you need help with this kind of coding, just ask us!
♠ JUDGING CRITERIA: The criteria we will be judging on in no particular order are originality, characterization, technical skills, and emotive power.

FANART

♠ THEME: For this first contest, we thought we'd keep it simple, so it's basically a free for all! ^-^
♠ ENTERING: To keep voting fair, we request that you submit your entry to us at miracle[dot]mods[at]gmail[dot]com. Please upload the images to a free server and send us the link. We will re-upload all images to Imageshack and post them as they arrive, of course leaving out your name/aliases for the sake of anonymity. Please remember to include your LJ username in the e-mail!

The logistics...

♠ RATING: Open. From G to XXX, your art can be as risque or innocent and cutesy as you choose it to be. Just remember to put a warning somewhere (like the lj-cut coding) if it's not work safe.
♠ LENGTH: Like our one-shot policy, we'd prefer a one-frame image. If you're doing a comic series and want to incorporate your fanart into it later, we can't restrict that and wouldn't want to! In the meantime, though, just one frame.
♠ TEXT: Entirely acceptable. If the people in your fanart are saying something or you just want a caption, you're free to include whatever text you'd like. The only limitation is that you cannot mark your image with your signature/name/alias, etc.
♠ MEDIUM: Whether it's a simple black and white pencil sketch or a watercolor portrait, we'll accept basically all mediums! :] Have fun and get creative!
♠ Manips are a no-no. As are other graphic images that aren't your own original work.
♠ No old material, please. So it's all fair, we'd rather you submit something new than recycle something old. It puts those who have to start from the beginning at a disadvantage otherwise.
Only one work per artist and vice-versa. This means no joint pieces!
♠ JUDGING CRITERIA: Fanart is trickier to put down in terms of judging criteria, but mostly we'll be looking for a degree of technical ability.

IMPORTANT;
Please don't post your submission anywhere until after voting closes. This defeats the purpose of our anonymous posting!
Also refrain from replying to comments on your contest entry.
Any violation of these rules will result in disqualification of your entry from the contest.

Other details to keep in mind...

♠ DEADLINE: September 20, 11:59 PM EST (USA).
♠ VOTING: Votes will go up September 21 and close Sept 28. However many entries we get by the end of the contest will determine the voting system.
♠ PRIZE: Winners will receive banners of recognition. It'll be something nice to put in your userinfo. :D
