The next morning, Kyuhyun woke up to the rays of the morning sun. The whole room was bathed in light and he felt warm and comfortable. He realized that he was still in the living room, still on the couch, and still in Zhoumi’s embrace. He smiled and relaxed against him for a moment. Zhoumi looked like an angel bathed in the morning light. Surely, some god somewhere had created Zhoumi just so, making sure he was as perfect as he could have been. He was perfect for Kyuhyun, the most perfect person in the world. He was so much more precious and wonderful than anything in the whole world. Kyuhyun gazed up at him. There was an expression of peace and contentment on his face, and expression that Kyuhyun thought, couldn’t be more fitting for this moment.
He leaned up a little and kissed Zhoumi. Everything in the universe was in harmony at that moment, telling the two of them to be happy. Kyuhyun felt blessed, like this was everything that he needed. Zhoumi was someone set aside just for him, and someone he could love for the rest of his life. The tears that he had cried, just the day before, seemed a distant memory now, and he could smile because Zhoumi had taken all the sadness away.
“Thank you for making such a wonderful person,” he whispered to the air. His heart would say so for the rest of his life as well. Then, he felt Zhoumi shift and looked back to him. He was awake now, and smiling at Kyuhyun.
“Good morning sunshine,” he said, and Kyuhyun laughed. Zhoumi squeezed him a little tighter and then, they kissed. Then, they got up off the couch, holding hands and walking into the kitchen.
“What would you like me to make for breakfast today?” Zhoumi asked and Kyuhyun smiled.
“Whatever you want to eat.” Kyuhyun watched as Zhoumi made breakfast that morning. Every action was deliberate, every move so full of love. He looked so determined to make the perfect breakfast. Kyuhyun’s heart was overflowing with happiness and love. It was as if all this had been planned somehow. All the things he had gone through to get here, meeting Zhoumi, falling in love, it was fate. It was their fate. The smell of waffles filled the air as Zhoumi set them on a plate and walked with Kyuhyun to the table.
“Especially for you,” said Zhoumi with a smile. “I hope you like it.” Kyuhyun smiled back.
“I know I will.” He blushed. He and Zhoumi had never been so openly affectionate towards each other. It made him happy, as much as it embarrassed him.
“Kyu,” said Zhoumi, as Kyuhyun took a bite of a waffle, “you know…while you were gone…I thought a lot. You’re the most precious thing in the world to me…and I just want you to know…I’ll always love you. I want to make you happy most of all. From now on, I want to be with you.” Kyuhyun smiled and, getting up, he walked over to where Zhoumi was sitting and kissed him.
“I love you too, and I missed you a lot while I was gone.” The sunlight still filled the room. The waffles made everything taste so sweet. But nothing could be as sweet as their love for each other at that moment.
“I love you so much,” said Zhoumi, standing up and pulling him into a hug.
“I love you too.” They kissed again, more passionate now, but still gentle, still sweet. The sunlight and passion filled the room with warmth. Zhoumi picked Kyuhyun up in his arms and carried him up the stairs to his room, the two still kissing. Kyuhyun had never seen the inside of Zhoumi’s room before. It was clean, and white, and beautiful. Walking over to the bed, Zhoumi set Kyuhyun down on it. After that, the waffles were forgotten.
