Fabulous article [03 Oct 2006|08:47pm]

As Rush Limbaugh noted Monday, "The truth is that the people on the left who are acting all outraged and stunned and angry, they don't see what Clinton or Barney Frank or Gerry Studds did as repugnant. In fact, they view those things as private matters that didn't affect anybody's work, and it's nobody's business what somebody does with their private life, particularly when it comes to sex."

Third Party Option [17 Feb 2006|01:09pm]

the_faceist
I must concede to something before I go on. Its been the habit of third party presidential nominees in US history to not make it to the primaries, they usually don't have many platforms to run on and most people go towards the Dems or the GOP. I would like to break this trend. Personally I'm tired of the mudslinging attitude between these parties, nothing seems to be accomplished unless a majority exists. I know that this has been the goal of several third parties such as the Green Party, the Libertarian Party, The American Communist Party and others, but I do not mean to take on any of the roles and beliefs of such parties. I submit the idea that with the laid example of the British Labour Party, there should be an American Labour Party. If you're not familiar with it, British PM Tony Blair is a member of the Labour Party. I know many people ignorantly dislike and distrust Blair because of his actions in the Iraq Conflict, this must not be the only actions people base their opinions of him on. He is a wonderful PM and should be looked at as a source of guidance on how American "politicians" and public officers should act and speak. Blair has become a dream to many constituents as someone who "says exactly what he believes." These are some of my favorite quotes from him.

"You have to say 'Do your policies reflect your values?' And if they don't, get rid of them. Too many people were caught in making the policy what they had to stand by, and they forgot that it was all about the values."

"If you really believe in those values, there's nothing that should stand in the way of that"

I was wondering if anyone else is sick of the indifferent whining of the Democratic Party but also disgusted by the bigoted, arrogant nature of the Republican party.

Which has been behaving worse lately... liberals or Muslims? (particularly in light of the "Danish Cartoon Scandal"... where are Moore, Chomsky, etc. when it comes to defending freedom of the press in this case? Too busy bashing Bush, that's where...)

This is not to try and fold all Muslims under the same banner, but how often do we see "moderate" Muslims speaking out against the more radical ones who will demand death and destruction for all who refuse to take their side?

I am considering starting a brother/sister community to anythingbutlib_ - something more along the lines of "anythingbutmuslim" if one does not already exist - and was wondering what the response to such a consideration would be. I wouldn't necessarily want it to be a community that just parallels or parrots Little Green Footballs, but one with a little bit more open discussion and not just name calling (i.e. "sand ni**ers," "Koranimals" etc.) in response. I would also have two or three people from this board on as moderators so that we don't get any more trolls like that "revolutionnow05" idiot who posted a lot of liberal nonsense here awhile back.

What do you think?

thank god sam alito was finally confirmed. i couldn't stand the badgering this highly qualified candidate was receiving, mainly due to his stances or supposed stances on Roe v. Wade. ok. A. this is not the only issue facing the supreme court, and B. it WON'T be overturned after so many years of legality, and certainly not by ONE justice. relax, people. abortion is safe.

hilary rodham clinton's little stunt at the state of the union address, that Jim Vicevich alluded to on his show the other day, is INexcusable and completely disrespectful. when the president said we won't sit there and take another sneak attack by terrorists, she apparently did just that: sit. what does that say to the thousands of family members of those 3,000-something killed insensibly in the 9/11 attack?

what the hell is wrong with wiretapping a VERY NARROW scope of people's conversations to monitor communications with al Qaida? get over it, this is not Big Brother, it's national security. if you have nothing to hide, what are you worried about?

in other stuff ...

i am sad that coretta scott king has died. one of the great historical figures in American history. god bless she and rosa parks, who also receently passed.

Wouldn't you like to see Judge Alito and Chief Justice Roberts questioning the Democrat Senators to determine their qualifications for Public office? Just imagine matching the IQs of the Senators and the Judges!

The questions might go like this.............................

Judge Alito (JA): "Senator Kennedy, I see from your official resume that you attended Harvard University..."

Senator Kennedy (SK): "Yes, your honor, I certainly did."

JA: "Did you graduate?"

SK: "Your honor, I respectfully ask that you not pry into my personal life..."

JA: "Is it not true that you were expelled from Harvard for violating the honor code, to wit, you hired someone to take an exam for you?"

SK: "Mr. Chairman, I want to go on record that I disagree with this line of questioning. I ask the chair to order the Judge from asking questions about my private matters.."

Senator Specter, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee: "Answer the Judge's questions. He answered all of yours.."

JA: "Senator Kennedy, we have on hand a transcript of the session of the university's honor council attesting to your fraudulent examination and subsequent expulsion from the university..."

SK: "I have had all I can take of this line of unreasonable questioning. I am going to ask Al Gore how he managed to keep his early departure from Vanderbilt University Divinity School away from the eyes of
you religious nuts..."

JA: "Wait, Senator Kennedy, I want to ask you about the 26 phone calls you made from a motel room the night Mary Jo Kopecne drowned in your car at Chappaquidik, when you said you were asleep all night..."

[ Kennedy flees the hearing room ]

Senator Specter: "Chief Justice Roberts [CJR] will now interrogate Senator Biden [SB], Democrat of Delaware..."

CJR: "Senator Biden, is it not true that you were expelled from law school for plagiarizing another student's work?"

SB: "Wait, Ted, I am going with you..."

[ Biden flees the hearing room ]

Senator Specter: "Judge Alito will now interrogate Senator Feinstein, Democrat of California..."

JA: "Senator Feinstein [SF], why did you vote for the former Grand Kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan of West Virginia [Robert Byrd] to be the Democrat Senate Majority Leader in 1986, 1988, 1990, and 1992?"

SF: "Wait, boys, I am going with you..."

Does anyone have a photo of John Ashcroft speaking, or looking like he's debating? It's for a PowerPoint I have to do for school. If possible, please let me know where you got it. Thanks!

Gay Grrr! Guy Wins Pulitzer
Wednesday, December 14, 2005
By Mike Straka

With all the hype surrounding the "gay cowboy" flick "Brokeback Mountain," I've come to the conclusion that the only way for me to get noticed by the elite media is to be gay.

So, I'm gay.

In addition (I originally wrote "on top of that" but thought better of it), I'm also a recovering crack addict and am wheelchair bound after a drug and alcohol induced motorcycle crash that left me paralyzed from the waist down.

I'm dumbfounded. Absolutely dumbfounded. I stand mute in the face of such vitrol, such unmitigated loathing, such unfathomable, willful mutilation. This is liberalism without a mask. This is the prime example of how everything must serve the liberal agenda. A plain movie cannot be allowed to pass untainted. It must be reviled for not following the liberal plan. Her entire argument is moot. She does nothing but get her card punched for the Liberal Club VIP Lounge.

I found an article in my local newspaper and I thought it made terrific points. It's called "America Needs To Wake Up". I typed it all out so you can read it. I may have made a few typos, but oh well.

Subject: It's not all about oil. A must-read historical account of terrorism against the U.S.

This is not very long, but very informative. You have to read the catalogue of events in this brief piece. Then, ask yourself how anyone can take the position that all we have to do is bring our troops home from Iraq, sit back, reset the snooze alarm, go back to sleep, and no one will ever bother us again? In case you missed it, World War III began in November 1979. That alarm has been ringing for years. U.S. Navy Captain Ouimette was the Executive Officer at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. Here is a copy of the speech he gave February 19, 2003. It is an accurate account of why we are so much in trouble today, and why this action is so necessary.Collapse )
