Eng Vol 8 p.141 // Jap Vol 6 P. 230

こじれにこじれてまりれた、当事者 にしかけない。その鉄をねじげてIASONわない-------えない実を示唆したのは それでしでもリキに自覚してしいからだ。たとえ、それがよけい節介なおでしかなくても。

Only Riki could untangle the twisted and tangled thread. Katze violated an ironclad rule--- intimating the reality which Iason wouldn’t and couldn’t mention to Riki, hoping Riki to become aware of the situation even a little bit, although he was only meddling in others’ affairs.

出会いは最悪で-----KATZEはいまだにその馴れめすららなかったが 偶然ではわらなかった出会いにはそれなりの意味がある

Even though their encounter was the worst---- Katze still didn’t know the beginning of their relationship, the accidental encounter was not terminated; then it had some meaning.

本来は絶対に交わるはずのない 「線」 が奇跡の確率うことの意味 KATZE自身 見極めたかったの かもしれない。

The dot and line that would never intercross came across like a miracle, Katze himself possibly saw through the significance of the encounter.

なのに, RIKIにはいまだにGuyのことしかないのかと,無性った。IASON RIKIのために払うリスク。それを台無しにしようとするRIKIとガィのバカげた行動がただもうたしくてならなぃ。

But to see Riki trapped in his memories of Guy, infuriated Katze. Iason put his very existence at risk for the concerns of Riki. The foolish action Riki and Guy attempted to carry out could ruin everything; it threw Katze into a burning rage.

RIKI命運ってぃるのは IASONで。 そのIASONを変させたのはRIKIガィなど 関係なぃ〟 それなのに こういうとんでもないことをしでかしてまで二人ってろうとする程知らずのguy、許せなかった.

Iason had the power of life and death over Riki, but Riki changed Iason. Guy was not part of the equation. But even so, Guy overreached himself and interfered between the two of them by carrying out such outrageous action, this was unforgivable in Katze’s eyes.

Eng Vol 8 p.142 // Jap Vol 6 p. 233

生殖機能を喪失たくらいで、 IASON 執著が断ち切れるゎけがな. ういう刷り込みがでいるのか知らなぃが、 リキはそのにお分を過小評価しすぎる. 要なのは外見ではなく、中身なのだ.
Just because Riki was castrated, it wouldn’t end Iason’s obsession with him. Katze didn’t know what have been imprinted on Riki, but Riki underestimated himself in this regard. What important to Iason was not the appearances, but the interior.

徹底能力主義。 その判断基準リキにてはめるのはどかと思が、 極論をってしまえぱ、 性器を失ってもイアソンはまったくこだわらないだろう。リキが、 リキでありさえすば。tanaguraの医療技術をもってれぱ、 失った性器をClone再生することなどさしてしいことではない。
Iason firmly believed in meritocracy. Katze wondered if Iason applied this criterion on Riki, but he would go so far as to say, Iason simply didn’t care if Riki lost his genitalia, as long as Riki was still Riki. It was not difficult to clone and reproduce the lost genitalia with Tanagura’s medical technology.

Eng Vol 6 p.143 // Jap Vol 6 p.235

「ェォスにた頃は、 意地でもびてるもんかってってた。先のも、 出戻ってからも。 slum雜種っていうprideが俺の拠りったからだ」
“When I was in Eos, I thought I will never flatter anyone, during the first three years in Eos, and after I returned to Eos. The pride as a slum mongrel is my anchor.

威圧されても、いたぶられても頽れpride絶対権力者にとって、それは、嗜虐性に満ちた新鮮な興味だったことは想像に難くない。 blondieの威光に屈しない知らずは、ある意味, slum雜種特権なのかもしれないが。
Even being coerced and tormented, Riki’s pride was never shattered. For someone who had absolute power, it was easy to imagine that Riki  could satisfy one’s sadism and fresh curiosity. Not succumbing to the authority of Blondie because of the ignorance of the world, this in a sense perhaps was a special privilege of the slum mongrel.

「けど….Apatiaに移ってかって突っ張ってるのが変息苦しくてたまんねーっていうか。俺を飼ためのEosからApatiaに変わっただけなのに、Iasonと二人っきりで付きわせてる妙にまる。
“However....after coming to Apathia, kept holding on to that made me feel stifled. Despite it was merely moving my cage from Eos to Apathia, when I’m alone, face to face with Iason, I have an odd feeling of suffocating.

なんで、 とかして、 とか。 仕事に係ないとで頭がグルグルになるってうか .... ういうって いっぺん自覚しちまうと、もうだめなんだような。
“How? Why? The queries unrelated to work spin around my head. When I am aware of this, I know I’m not alright.

Eng Vol 8 p.144 // Jap Vol 6 p. 237

「だった、俺は、一杯突っってみせるしかなぃなんてっちま PET RINGがなくなっちったら いやでも踏ん切りが ついちまだろIASON対等.... にはなれなくても、目線でタメを 張ろ えばできるんじゃねーかって」
“If it’s the case, all I have to do is never back down. This is what I think seriously. And if I don’t have the pet ring, whether I like it or not, I’ll have to make up my mind, right? Even if I can’t stand on an equal footing with Iason, I think I’m still capable of having the same line of sight with him.”

Eng Vol 8 p.146 // Jap Vol 6 p.240

"I found something interesting in Midas. Black hair, black eyes, a slumdog with plenty of fight in him. Try making use of him. "

This is INCREDIBLE! :D Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.

Man, it's really surprising how much content was cut out from Digital Manga Publishing's copies of the series. Their translations are pretty decent, but geez, to cut out so much content from the original is just horrible.

Do you think if fans actually take the time to contact them and demand they fix their translations, they will do that? I'm really sick of seeing such half-baked translations by "official" companies like DMP. I bought all the volumes, too, and yet, seeing your translations (which are WAY better), makes me realize that there so much information is missing from DMP's translations, like I don't fully know the series at all because how many mistakes and things were cut out from DMP. :(

Again, thank you so much for doing this! :) As a devoted fan, I really appreciate all of your hard work!

You’re very welcome, thanks for your comment and glad you like it :)

DMP version is like a shell without the soul in it. They made a decent translation by omitting some parts that are hard to translate, if they were to translate more literally, I would expect something like Kelly Quine’s work, more complicated in the use of English.

Unfortunately, I don’t expect much from DMP because they have already made profit. If they receive TONS of complains, maybe they will do something...

There's also the fact that DMP has, apparently, stopped distribution of the novels, making it hard for fans to buy them. :(

I think fans, in any fandom, underestimate their ability to help make a change/impact on how companies do things. Not just for manga publishing companies like DMP, but anime dubbing companies, too. I get that as humans, it's only natural for us to make mistakes. But if fans sees their mistakes, instead of just whining about it on SNS, they should point it out to the company's officials and tell them to fix/change it to be accurate. That's what I think, anyway. I don't really the whole "take what you can get" mindset fans and company's officials sprout when issues and mistakes can be fixed with reprints and re-distribution.

DMP is such a half-baked publishing company. I don't see why small individual companies can't just unite as a single group to help improve the quality of the translations instead of trying to monopolize Japanese novels with half-baked translations.

Yeah, you’re right! but since no news for OVA, now we probably can’t mobilize a large number of people to complain, if DMP only get several complaints, they will just forward the email to relative department and eventually lose contact. :S
This is the problem when we rely on one company……

If would've better for the series if bigger, better manga publishing companies like Viz Media, Vertical, or Seven Seas to license it. They make mistakes, too, but the translations would've been much better. :( I can't believe DMP just ended up cancelling production of it. What a waste. I mean, DMP is a small company, anyway. Pretty much third-rate compared to bigger companies like Viz Media or Yen Press.

If anything, I think small companies like DMP should just be sold to other companies. The more workers for a company, the better. More editors and translations to fix the quality of the translations, you know?

I think with a lot of SNS, such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, being used by companies to promote their licensed titles, fans who have SNS should take more initiative to call the companies out for their mistakes and laziness. Fixing mistakes in translations is always possible, especially with reprints. Fans underestimate the influence they truly have over the companies, but only stick to whining and complaining on the Internet instead of taking their legitimate complaints to the people in charge. If it means publicly embarrassing the companies by pointing out their mistakes, I think fans should try all they can to demand the quality of whatever manga, novel, or anime they want be improved, so long as the complaints are legit.

You're really amazing! Thank you so much for doing this.

I don't speak Japanese myself, but reading your translation helps me understand more of the story and the character's string of thought and their complexity that lost in the original translation. Your translations are definitely much much better, thank you once again! I really appreciate and enjoy this very much :)

"Iason simply didn’t care if Riki lost his genitalia, as long as Riki was still Riki. It was not difficult to clone and reproduce the lost genitalia with Tanagura’s medical technology."

So, it was not just wishful thinking by the fans and fanfiction writers! ^^
We always guessed this much without knowing it's actually written :(

Yes! it was actually in the original novel, Iason didn't experience sexual pleasure, also mentioned in the novel and lost in DMP edition.

I just read the translation and the corrections it was a awesome work. Thank you rainbowfam your work was important to me bacause I realized that many thing were present in the original and I hoped that this was the case, and that much has gone lost in this very bad translation.
