Wanted to followup with the forum on my quest to find a low-cal or fat-free caesar salad dressing.
I think I may have found a brand that does the almost oxymoronic statement of "fat free caesar dressing" justice.
Girard's Fat Free Caesar Dressing is really tasty and only 40 calories for 2 tbsp.
I made a caesar salad this weekend and even toasted my own crutons using two slices of the Franz whole grain white bread (2pts for 2-slices), cut into cruton-like pieces and put on a cookie sheet, sprayed lightly with Pam and lightly seasoned with salt/pepper. I broiled the bread pieces at 300-degrees until completely toasted.
Combine salad, dressing, croutons and add a small sprinkling of parmesan cheese and some fresh ground pepper and you have a fabulous salad.
My boyfriend offered to be the guinnea pig for my taste test of this salad and he gave it "two thumbs up".
