Does anyone have any info on the upcoming Voltaire show at Numbers? They are slow to update their website as usual and I was wondering If it's all ages, have tickets gone on sale yet and other sundry questions. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Got info from another community. Thanks in advance for any one starting to look up info!
Almost a year after it was shot, and almost a year of waiting, we finally have the full music video to Voltaire's song Happy Birthday (My Olde Friend)!!!
The video was shot by Jochen Schoberth of Etage Music from Germany and directed by Voltaire himself. Populated by 100 of his Gothy-Loli friends who were exclusively cast from right on his myspace page!
Watch and sing along (if you were IN the video, you've had the words memorized for a looong time now ;)!
I have been working on the new CD for a while now. In fact, I'm probably just a couple of weeks away from finishing it. The plan was to get it into the hands of Dancing Ferret (which you may remember I signed with last year after releasing Ooky Spooky). As long as I was able to hand in a finished CD by August 29th, I could have it come out on Halloween, which was my goal for this CD. I really didn't want it to be 2 years before I released a new CD (the length between most of my releases).
Well, a few days ago, I got the sad news that Dancing Ferret has closed it's door and are shutting down due to health issues of label president and my friend, Patrick Rogers. My best wishes go to Patrick. Believe me when I say that his health will ALWAYS be more important to me than any CD I might ever release.
However, I do now find myself in the odd position of having a nearly finished CD and no record label to release it. I've given it much thought, talked to several people about it and have reached the decision to put it out myself. You and I have a dialogue. We talk. We're talking right now.... sort of. heh heh So maybe the time has come for you to come directly to me to get my next CD.
Now let me tell you what this is going to mean. I'm going to start taking pre-orders at some point in the next week or so. I will post an album cover, a title, a track listing and some information about the CD. And then of course there will be a price set for the disc and you'll be able to pre-order it. I think it will take a little over a month from the time I start taking pre-orders to the time when the CD is released. I am probably only going to make 1 or 2 thousand discs! And pretty much the only way you can get one is directly from me! Kind of scary.. but kind of exciting.
Finally got the good word today. VOLTAIRE WILL BE AT DRAGONCON!!!!
The note: For those many of you who have asked... I finally have an answer.
I WILL indeed be at Dragoncon this year!!! I will performing solo this year, at least one show, as well as signing at my booth, possibly hosting an event or two, most likely doing a set in the Trek Track, possibly showing my short film in the film festival, most likely unveiling some new toys in the urban vinyl forums and just general all around cavorting with Klingons and Stormtrooper.
Voltaire will be appearing at the next Wicked Event - the Totally Normal Event - in Whippany, New Jersey, USA, on June 28th. The event also features Freezepop, Barry Louis Polisar (from the Juno soundtrack), and Brian from the Dresden Dolls.
More information goes on the website weekly, so if you're interested, do check back. Tickets are $20, advance tickets get special bonus, and the event is a benefit for SPARC, a nonprofit summer program for gifted kids.
Hey, all! For the third year in a row, the Wicked Faire will star the one, the only Voltaire!
The Wicked Faire is, as we like to call it, a Renaissance Faire..with Benefits. It's a huge indoor Renfaire, plus an enormous variety of other performances and entertainments. (I mean, how many Renaissance Faires have Mr. V? We're the only one!)
This year's theme is a mixture of Renfaire..and the works of H.P. Lovecraft. (Which changes our motto, for 2008, to: "The Wicked Winter Renaissance Faire: A Renaissance Faire...With Tentacles!")
Check us out! February 8th and 9th, at the Holiday Inn of Edison, New Jersey.
Ok, I know this isn’t exactly Voltaire related but I also know how some of us have talked about some of the clutter with our various closets and collections. Also, what better way to support your Voltaire habit than by winning 10,000.00 in cash and the like? Really, who couldn’t use a 50,000.00 home make over.
This is a contest with The Style Network and Niecy Nash. It is the search for The Messiest Home in America. They ran this last year and only redid one room. This year they are doing the whole house. (And yes, I am hating it that I can’t enter.) It’s super easy to enter. You make a video of your home and family that is 1-5 min. Mail it or upload it along with sending in the entry form. Wahllah!
Last year there were only 50 entries. My last update (just before Christmas) was that there were only about 5 entries so far for this year so you stand a REALLY GOOD chance of winning.
Anyway, check out some of the videos and then enter on your own. Clear some clutter and support your habit. J Happy Holiday every one. Oh, and if anyone wins I want to move in with you after it is done. ;-)
My sister gave me Gothcoming tickets for my birthday, but she didn't know that I already had some (no idea why I got them so early- weird for my fiancé and me)... so now I have two extra tickets and a lack of friends interested.
If you are interested, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

And, for the first time since the first time THE WHOLE BAND WILL BE THERE!!!!! Jump up and down and clap. It's ok. We know you want to. :-) That's right campers, for the first time since Voltaire's first time at DragonCon (1999 I think...geez, has it really been that long....) he will have the whole band with him. This show is not to be missed.
