Who is Madam Malkin?

She is the store owner of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions in Diagon Alley. This is the store where, significantly, Harry Potter meets Draco Malfoy for the first time. It is where Harry gets outfitted and refitted for his school robes each year.

Malkin: from the Middle English, meaning "servant woman." In British dialect, it means "an untidy woman." *However - a synonym for the word is slattern - a description of how a robe fits - means "to hang loosely". This surname is deliberately ironic since as a clothier Madam Malkin would need to be neat and precise.

Who is Celestina Warbeck?

Known as the Singing Sorceress on the WWN (Wizarding Wireless Network), the wizards' equivalent of radio broadcasting, she is a very popular singer.

Celestina: A celesta is a "musical instrument consisting of graduated steel plates that are struck by hammers activated by a keyboard".

Warbeck: suggests the words "warble" and "beckon". To warble is to sing with trills, runs or other melodic embellishments. And beckon of course, means to summon.
