Zombie Columbia!
Over easter weekend, my cast did a Zombie Night. It was awesome! Brad and Janet slowly became zombie-fied as the movie went on, and we did "Thriller" in place of Floorshow, which was hard work to learn but sooo worth it. I recently posted some pictures to my personal LJ, and thought I would share them here as well.

hey! i think this is my first post. i'm in The Junior Chamber of Commerce Players, Pittsburgh PA.

i'm all excited. last night for the first time i had an eddie who could not only lift but throw me. we did the handstand move!

i was kind of in a zone but castmates told me the crowd went wild.

we did it a couple times fucking around before the show started [i was a little disappointed at that spoiler], three times in the song, and once for eddie's bow. that time i heard the crowd!

A question for all you Columbias who have done the elmer's glue method or know someone who has - I just tried putting on the glue and then make-up over it and as soon as I put the foundation on the eyebrows became unglued. Should I have powdered first, before the foundation? Could I put liquid latex over top of the glue and then powder and then foundation? I have a gig this weekend at a small club and I need my eyebrow area to look smooth close up, not from 30 feet away. Would love not to shave off my eyebrows to achieve this. Thanks!

Hi everyone--

I watch the community all the time (I've been a long time lurker) and love reading all the posts and looking at everyone's pictures. I'm going up as Columbia for the first time on Saturday and was wondering if anyone has any helpful tips for the first run as Columbia. Thanks!

Columbia shoes for sale
I decorated these before the rhinestone/sequin debate, so they have rhinestones on. They are slightly broken in, but are basically new. Starting bid at $10. Email me or comment if you have any questions.

in a miserable attempt to liven this community up-

what eyeshadow do you use for you Columbia makeup?
i'm looking for something very high in consistency, very pigmented, you know what I mean? basically i'm looking for something that's very sparkly and thick enough to give that final touch on the eyebrow cover.
i'd very much appreciate pictures.

Of Course, If He'd Said That about Clue I'd Have to Club Him

Theater fan: What would you say about a person who saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show only once and didn't feel any need to see it again?
Tim Curry: I'd say that was a person who was in full possession of their senses.

my name is jaqui, and i am one of two main columbias on bawdy caste, which is based in menlo park and san francisco, ca. i actually just joined in december, and did my first show in january. this has been probably the best thing i have ever done...really! i have always known i was born to perform, but am turned off by theatre classes/school/people. i don't know why...i just don't fit in with that scene...it's not for me. so this was really a great way for me to get started doing what i love to do!

when i found out that bawdy caste was coming to my area, i IMMEDIATELY e-mailed the cast director. i told her my first choice was magenta, and my second choice was columbia, but they only needed columbias. thank god for that! through the process of collecting costume pieces and learning the role, i have absolutely fallen in love with her! i want to become her. i'm even learning to tap dance, which is awesome!!! i have put SOOOO much time and effort into this, but it is all so rewarding. i wish i could do every show, but i have to alternate with another performer so i only get to perform about once a month :(

so, that's my introduction! i look forward to being a part of this community :D

i was wandering the garment district in nyc not too long ago, looking for fabric stores that had gold sequin fabric, and only found really 1. some of the stores had foil dot, some has the zig zag patern with sequins, but the fabric was black, and really noticeable. the fabric i found at the store im posting about, has black backing, but wasnt too bad. anyways, i thought id share my find. no, its not the best, but its something.

Okay, as you'll notice from my icon, I am a Janet, not a Columbia.

However, our September show, I will be donning more sequins than a craft store and playing the sparkly tap-dancing one while our Columbia (she's my understudy) plays Janet instead. I am a blocking perfectionist and, while I've ALWAYS wanted to play Columbia, this role secretly scares the crap out of me.

So, I'm asking for newbie blocking-related tips. (Costume I'm good on, I'm borrowing almost all of it.)

1.) Are there any weird blocking things that Little Nell does that I should be aware of that might help me out while learning her whole part?
2.) She does have that mood ring, right? What hand is that on so I can watch for it and practice which arm to move?
3.) Any advice you wish your prior Columbia had given you?
4.) Any tips on how not to fall off a stage after jumping off a jukebox and spinning around a lot?

I realized today that I might save alotta money if I buy fishnets in bulk. Right now I am having to buy a new pair every week,  am paying $5 for them (you people know how much fishnets can add up to) and sometimes the store I buy them from runs out and looks at me funny when I hypervenalate 5 hours before showtime. Does anyone know a good place or website for this? I want to buy about 20 pairs or more.

I've tried google and yahoo searching it and have found nothing.

And no... Wraping my Eddie in bubblewrap is not an option : )
