AfterElton.com Interviews Travis Wall

So You Think You Can Interview Travis Wall
Posted by Dennis Ayers, Managing Editor on July 5, 2011

"So, do you think you could interview Travis Wall?" We've been getting that request a lot around here, so thanks to everyone who pushed for it. We're happy to deliver!

Travis Wall is just 23-years-old, which is easy to forget when you consider what he's already managed to accomplish. Dancing all his life, he starred in a nationwide Dr. Pepper commercial when he was nine. He was performing on Broadway in a revival of The Music Man at 12. But perhaps his biggest break as a dancer came in 2006, when then 18-year-old Travis competed on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance....

SYTYCDers helping Japan!

Just wanted to let you guys know about an awesome comm, japan_calls.

There will be an online auction taking place in about a week, where fans will be able to bid for the chance to receive personalized voice messages (possibly YouTube vids) from their favorite celebrities! The money raised will all go to charities aiding the relief effort in Japan. And the lovely Melinda Sullivan (S7) has agreed to participate!

Click on the comm link and scroll down to see the long and still growing list of names. We have dancers, musicians, athletes, reality stars, directors, and actors (even an Oscar nominee!). Bidding should be starting in about a week. Please check out the comm, spread the word, bid, and help us help Japan!

Nigel says:

"Covering the genres of Jazz, Contemporary, Broadway and Cultural, I am delighted to say that we have, from Season 6, .......KATHRYN."

Overall, I applaud this decision. I can think of several other jazz/contemp girls I'd be more excited to see, but since they are selecting dancers from all 6 seasons, I think she's one of the only good possible choices. She's one of maybe 2 or 3 S6ers who would be worthy of the "all-star" title IMO.

What are YOUR thoughts? Confused about those sytycdism "spoilers" now (how they can have sooo many contemporary-ish girls?) Me too.

A follow-up to this post.

Nigel just tweeted

"First rule change. Only one dancer will leave the competition each week and not two. Many more changes to come by the end of this week."

Huh...sooo will the season last double the time? Or maybe less total contestants? And the partnership method will obviously have to change quite a bit. This shall be interesting.

Stephen "tWitch" Boss joins "Stomp 2"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Stephen "tWitch" Boss has stomped his way from the stage to the yard.

The footloose runner-up of the fourth season of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" has been cast in Rainforest Films' "Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming."

Rob Hardy ("Trois") is directing, from a script by Albert Leon ("Feel the Noise").

Boss is slated to star as the antagonist, Taz.

The original "Stomp the Yard," which Screen Gems released in 2007, kicked up $74 million worldwide.

Boss displayed his dance skills in the features "Blades of Glory" and "Hairspray." He next appears in Disney's "Step Up 3-D," scheduled for August release.
