I really, really don't recommend this movie. I went in thinking it was just another superhero movie (I hadn't read the graphic novel like the people with me had), but it was way more than I bargained for. I was a mess by the time we left the theater, mostly in an angry-hostile way, but a mess nonetheless.
So yeah... don't let anyone talk you into go seeing it if this kind of thing triggers you.
Do you go out of your way to avoid triggers, just brace yourself, or seek out triggers when you need to let it out? Does your reaction depend on who is around? Can you control it? What happens when something triggers you? Is it just embarrassing, or worse?
I recently watched The Notorious Betty Page and it was very good, but there were a couple of scenes that were very triggering. It wasn't graphic necessarily, but you got the idea of what was happening...so anyways, just wanted to warn.

Hopefully this is okay for me to post. If not, mods, please let me know and I will promptly hit that delete key. :)
Just a heads up...
How many people watch Law and Order SVU and find it (besides wonderfully entertaining) to be a type of therapy for them? Fiction or not, when they find those abusers, and those rapists and those pedophiles, and give them justice. Do you not get such a powerful sense of satisfactory after watching it? I just love that show! I notice alot of survivors watch it.
If this needs a cut for triggers, please let me know :)
no no no, this isnt about the devil or religion or anything. goodness knows theres enough to talk about there, but im not in the mood to be "converted" at the mo
just got thinking about the phrase the other day, and what you lot on here call "trigger[ing]"
