Anger can oftentimes be hard for survivors to express appropriately. It can be expressed through many various behaviors, often of which are learned. For some survivors, anger can be dangerous to express, and therefore it is turned inwards and turns into depression and/or anxiety. On the flip side, some survivors learned that showing anger was a good way to stop abuse, or keep people from getting to close to them, thus eliminating the potential of abuse from that person.
