The waves crashed forcefully against the tiny row boat as both cast and crew began to descend onto the Island of Skulls. Apparently, the named fit the island quite well, as carvings of hideous faces were not only seen etched on the jagged rocks surrounding the small wooden boat, but on the wall that seemed to keep travelers out. Fascinated, yet also dreadfully worried about what might await them on this island, Jack Driscoll sat and watched as the lovely Ann Darrow quietly gawked in abundance as she too must've been terrified. In the distance, a small opening underneath the gigantic wall seemed to appear, and like a child awaiting a christmas gift, Carl Denham encouraged the sailors to row on. There was no stopping Carl. Jack knew that he was a very determined and stubborn man when it came to him getting what he wanted and nothing could stop that persistent strive.
He could feel the cold spray of the ocean underneath, and like a ghost breathing down his back, a chill was sent down his spine. And as if that were a que, he felt the hand of another, slender hand quickly slip into his palm. A woman's hand. Ann. Turning and looking at the only female aboard, he saw the doubt and worry in her eyes and gave her a assuring smile that everything would be alright. But arriving to an uncharted and forbidden island made Jack uncertain as to what they'd encounter on land, and even he himself wasn't so sure about that smile.
At last the small boat had made its way to the caves, as though time had decided to slow down upon the exhilaration of reaching land. They had arrived.
[Open to: Carl, Ann, Preston and anyone else on the row boat, or nearby the caves.]
