eretria: General (main characters); Title "Lullabies for a city"

I'm tempted to call this one "Sleepless in Atlantis" but shall refrain from doing so for the corniness of it.

So, this is a compilation for all the sleepless people in the city; lullabies for the lonely ones and the melancholy ones, the happy ones and the sad ones, and yes, also for pairings and friends.

The greatest possible thanks go out to murron for the cover and for bringing the tracks in order .

Starsailor - Lullaby (to John (John/Rodney))
Quiet American, I held you so dear

Kate Rusby - Who will sing me lullabies (Elizabeth)
There’s one thing I ask when the stars alight the skies,
who now will sing me lullabies?
I lay here not sleeping now the long night has begun

Mediaeval Baebes - Adult Lullaby (Teyla)

Davey Spillane - Midnight Walker (Carson)

Moby - Sleep alone (John/Rodney)
So many empty night, just waiting for this - for this

Claude Debussy - Jimbo's Lullaby (Ronon)

Keb’ Mo - Lullaby baby blues (John (imagine him playing and singing this))
Hush now, no need to talk

Sade - The sweetest gift (Teyla and Ronon)
Quietly while you were asleep
The moon and I were talking
I asked that she'd always keep you protected

Juliana Hatfield - Close your eyes (Teyla and John)
Don’t believe in bad dreams, don’t let the dark side bring you down
It’s only a dream, don’t be a afraid to fall asleep,
close your eyes

The Earl Palmer Trio - Lullaby of birdland (Zelenka)

Eric Clapton - Sleepin' in the ground (Lorne)

Lisa Loeb - Do you sleep (John/Rodney)
Do you sleep anymore? [...]
I saw you as you walked across my room [...]
And you sat on the corner of my bed, and you smoked with ghost back of my head

Vienna Teng - Anna Rose (Kate Heightmeyer (I imagined her having left behind a godchild on earth whom she writes letters to, as this song holds the warmth I associate with Kate)
Anna Rose it's time to dream
I see that your imagination knows no bounds
there it flows like some magical stream
and carries you on its journey
Anna Rose, sleep well tonight

Hey, you! You put this together and don't tell me!

Honestly, a person logs off early in a bad mood one night and totally gets left behind.

Err, and I have to email or IM you about the thing.

Tue, Feb. 14th, 2006 06:28 pm (UTC)

See, that's what you get for leaving me behind to battle the evil world of civil judgements all alone.
Besides, surprises are nice, aren't they? Can't tell you everything or you'll think I'm predictable one fine day. :o)

E-mail, please. I'm still stuck on the judgement and IM would be too distracting right now. I don't need much longer, I hope, though. If it's urgent, we could meet in about an hour.

you included Keb Mo'. there are no words for how much you rock for that.

I'm sitting here with a broken hand, exhausted after a day of classes, ans here this is. it makes me happy.

Three albums can't lie - I adore Keb' Mo, and I'm always delighted to find people who know him, too.

Take care of that hand, and - sleep tight!
