Anti-radio radio; GOOD MUSIC

Brief interlude into the world of homework to say this:

WAY better than most radio. More like putting your iPod on shuffle. Only not.

((Those of you in Washington or BC might know it (out of Bellingham, WA). You also may know KEXP... As loyal as I am to the former, KUGS kicks KEXP's ass up and down the street. And then dances with it.))

Last played:
Of Montreal <3<3<3
YACHT--aka the male counterpart to the Blow <3
Ghostland Observatory
Data Rock
*new* Tori Amos
The Teeth (!)
The Gossip
Panda Bear
The Blow (second time within the hour <3)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

And maybe some things in beween whilst I was gone from the room. But all equally rad (yes, rad).

YES, I'm aware the name of this community is radiosucks. BUT you definitly should check it out if your computer doesn't suck (Or, if you get Comcast and you live in the greater Puget Sound area, it might be one of the free satellite radio stations you get--one of the few good things about being *Comcastic*)

The Teeth are pretty tight. If you're curious, I'll give you the rundown (and/or maybe a track because I think it's deservative of piracy :D )

I'm doing a story on the crusaders of the underage show. Since it's for a national magazine, the editor wants it to focus on groups and people doing this all over the place, not just my area.

For example, in Seattle there is this thing called the Vera Project, a group of people--underage and legal--who put together all-ages shows and promote underage bands. They even have a venue now. But they only work in Seattle mainly. Not really even outside the city much.

So if you know of anything like this, I would Greatly appreciate a name, email address, website, or just a whisper of somebody who's doing something good for young folks everywhere and anywhere.

Thank you.

((p.s. totally <3'ing Neon Blonde right now :D:D ))

Calling all Morrissey fans (urgent help needed)

Last chance to download Morrissey into the charts

As some of you may know Morrissey fans over at Morrissey– have been organizing a campaign to try and get a track from Morrissey’s latest album ‘Ringleader of the tormentors’, the beautifully haunting, ‘Life is a Pigsty’ into the charts.

We’ve been downloading ‘Life is a Pigsty’ all this week but time is running out and for this to work we need more people to get involved.

So please if you have a spare 79p please download ‘Life is a pigsty’ and help us make this dream a reality.

The chart countdown begins at 4pm on Sunday so there’s less than 24 hours left.

We need one final effort from everyone. If you haven’t downloaded ‘Pigsty’ yet then please do and if you already have, and can please download it again.

Non-uk fans can also take part. For more information go to

Please do all you can to help? Your hero needs you

Please, Please, Please let us get what we want this time. (You see what I did there)

Thank you

I'd love to make yet another post on Mr. Meloy + Co., as well as Mr. Meloy + Co. at the zoo, but....

So. We've all heard plenty on the Decemberists, no? So I'll share the joys I encountered whilst listening to their opener at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle some August 23 or so, Nethers...

First of all. SHE CAN FRICKIN SING. That girl has pipes of silver. Or crystal or something. Excellent juxtaposition to the feedback-y guitar, frantic (ish) drums, and generally foggy sound. I don't usually like random cooing/wailing/moaning/oh-ing, but she's good. Her voice made it worth it.

(If you have/do/will listen to them, you might see what I mean, and see that the booking agent was probably on something or just generally bad at his/her job because the pairing was horrible.)

Um... considering it's 11:10 pm and I haven't had a decent night's rest in quite some time, I think I'll bid farewell for now. Hope life's excellent for everyone, etc. I'm sorry I really didn't do Nethers justice up above, but I figured I should make a post since I haven't done so in ages.

I hate to put a myspace link in here, but that's the only website they have:
