Lie Detector: Ben Rowling (believes he's) telling the truth
After claiming he's only in it to get recognition, a polygraph test on PAX-TV's "Lie Detector" has proven that Jo's cousin is not lying in his statement saying that he is the real Harry Potter.

For those of you who find this to be utter rubbish: to say the least, there were quite a few new pictures from JKR's early childhood that we've never seen before.

UPDATE: 26 screencaps can now be found here.

Emerson's $.02: There's a reason polygraph tests are considered a joke when used as evidence in court: they are flawed machines. You can beat them by tricking them, by sincerely believing in something that isn't true, or just getting lucky when the machine gives a false reading.

Ben Rowling clearly believes JK Rowling based Harry off of him. The question is: did she really, or is that just what he thinks? JK might have borrowed some of Ben's personality when designing Harry, but I find it hard to believe he would be her sole inspiration for such a complex character. I think it's more likely she used him as part of her inspiration for Lockhart.

The bottom line: JKR wouldn't lie to us. If she says she didn't, we believe her.
