If you have any idea what I'm talking about, join this community

So, I'm Grace, co-moderator of this community and long time member of that odd, hard-to-describe group of people out there who mostly wander around thinking we're alone until the rare occasion when we find a kindred spirit. When we were younger it was easier to find people like us because children are generally more accepting and imaginative, but childhood friends have since grown up and grown out of whatever it is we do, I really can't quite put it into words. It goes beyond escapism, though that is certainly a part of it. It may come in any form; reading, writing, acting, video games, larp, travel, but still it's more than all that, it's not just a hobby, it's a frame of mind, a way of life. It causes you to take chances, it's the impulse behind buying those authentic suede boots, it why you had to explore the little cave, even though you knew it probably held nothing more than those sheep glaring at you in the corner. There's a bit of it, whatever it is, in everyone, but most people are to caught up in the trivialities of the real world to care, or too embarrassed at the consequence of abnormal thought to say anything. And people do mock us, they groan or laugh or nod sceptically. But that's okay. Because there are more out there then they will ever know, people like us.
