I am looking for beauty that comes in non-standard packages, beauty that sneaks up on you, beauty where you wouldn't think to look for it. Whether it comes in the form of a person's body, a landscape, an animal, a building--I want to see people reflecting on and adjusting their ideas of what is lovely and loveable as they look on themselves, other people, and the world around them.
I want people to share surprising, difficult beauty where they find it. Describe it for us in loving terms, or philosophical, or confused, or angry, whatever mood strikes you. Upload a photo. Explain what you are experiencing.
I fell in love with a man because of his talent for seeking out and finding the subtlest and strangest gorgeousness from everything he sees, hears, smells, touches, and tastes. Including me, to my unending delight! His way of being in the world is reverent, exuberant, and tender. A little more of that kind of thing is exactly what we need.
