WHO? Augustus, Bellatrix, Rodolphus, Emilie, Rabastan
WHAT? Bella leaves Gusty, and begs Rodolphus to forgive her. Rab comforts Bella.
WHERE? Romania, followed by Rodolphus' house

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
It was mid-morning when Augustus rolled off the bed. For once, it seemed, he had beaten Bellatrix and woken up first. He looked at her with a smile and went to the odd, muggle phone to order some breakfast.

Severus says:
Bella shifted closer to the spot that would be Augustus, and her eyes blinked open when she realized he'd been replaced by a warm indentation in the sheets. She smiled when she found Gusty using the 'phone'. "Are you calling Evan?"

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
Augustus snorted and held the odd device away from his face. "No. Evan doesn't know how to use the... telly-phone. I'm ordering breakfast." He added.

Severus says:
"Yes, good point... we'll just use Floo again if we need to reach Evan." Bella realized her mistake only after she'd said it. In a quick attempt to change the topic, she asked, "What's for breakfast?"

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
"I was thinking, maybe some of those fruits dipped in chocolate? Toast--" He was distracted by the telephone but finally clued into what she had said. "Floo... again? You talked to Evan?"

Severus says:
"Oh, well... yes... for a short while." She moved closer to him, sitting herself casually in his lap. She wasn't sure how to tell him that she was returning to London... and so she didn't. "Breakfast sounds lovely."

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
"Really?" Augustus put the phone down after placing their order and stared at her curiously. He hadn't talked to Evan at all since his friend's last, angry letter. "What did you talk about?"

Severus says:
Bella looked toward the window. "We'll talk about it later," she insisted. "I want today to be relaxing."

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
"Well, you can forget about that." Augustus replied quickly. "Unless you feel like telling me what you could've possibly had to talk about with my best friend."

Severus says:
Still looking at the window, as if it contained the most interesting view she had ever set her eyes upon, Bella answered him. "I'm returning to London."

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
"You're..." Augustus blinked at her rather stupidly before pushing her off his lap. He got to his feet quickly. "And you were going to tell me -when-?"

Severus says:
Bella stumbled to her feet and pouted, looking directly at him. "Soon, I swear!" She inched closer. "But... I just... I couldn't bring myself to do it quite yet... you... you did all of this for me... and I... I've taken you away from everything... and... Gusty, I can't be with you. I have to go back to Rodolphus. I owe loyalty to my family, and I promised Rodolphus that I would be a good wife... a faithful wife... and I cannot do that if I don't go back..."

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
Augustus swore under his breath and kicked the endtable the telephone was on, sending it crashing to the floor. "But he treats you like shit! How could you want that?"

Severus says:
Bella cringed. "Calm down, please." She hesitated before answering the question. "I want what my family wants," she concluded. "It is not as if I have been very kind to him either..."

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
"Why -him-?" Augustus asked darkly. "I mean, I know I'm not good enough for your family, but I could... get a job."

Severus says:
Bella shook her head and moved closer, placing her hands around his neck. "It is not that, I swear. You're far too good for any of us. But I am betrothed to him, and have been for my entire life. I love you, but I love my family too. My parents raised me... they have given me everything... I cannot betray their trust. And Rodolphus... I think there is a good man somewhere in his heart... I've yet to find it." She wasn't sure if she believed it, but there were times when he was nice and even affectionate.

:: Brennan and Rookwood :: says:
Augustus stared at her for a moment before flicking his wand at her trunk and clothes. It began to pack rapidly. "Fine. You know what? Go."

Severus says:
Bella knew that he would not take the truth easily, but that didn't stop his reaction from hurting. "I love you," she whispered, and kissed him before he could protest. She did not apologize, as she had done far too much wrong to receive his forgiveness. Moving swiftly toward the trunk before she could change her mind, she apparated away, and found herself in front of Rodolphus' house.

My inner fangirl is dying. says:
Rodolphus sighed, a bit happier than he usually was. Laying next to him was Emilie Delancy. Pressing a kiss to her cheek, he closed his eyes and decided to get a bit more rest before actually waking up to deal with the day. Plus, he was more than a bit tired.

Severus says:
Bella knocked on the door after a few minutes of studying the formidable London house.

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan hummed, rummaging for breakfast contently. At least, he was until Rodolphus awoke...
At the knock, he made his way to the door, empty teacup still in his hand for some odd reason. "Hel--Bella!" What had begun as a polite greeting as he opened the door became a surprised, yet happy, exclamation. He stepped aside, holding the door wider for her to enter. "You'll need to be quiet; Rodolphus isn't awake. I can guess at his reaction to your return... Are you hungry?" He began to walk back to the kitchen, motioning for her to follow.

Severus says:
"No thank you," she said quickly, levitating her trunk in front of her and leaving it in the foyer. "I know he'll be furious, but I think it's best if I talk to him now... it's not as if letting him sleep will turn him into a teddy bear." She gave Rabastan a quick kiss on the cheek in greeting. "It's good to see you again... I'm sorry about... everything." Flashing a weak smile, she left him alone in the kitchen and hurried up the stairs. She opened Rodolphus' door with out knocking, but let out a tiny scream at the sight of Emilie Delancy.

R.A.B.ycus says:
"But--" By the time he tried to stop her, Bella was up the stairs. Rabastan sighed, and heard the scream. Should he let Rodolphus deal with it on his own? Half asleep, with two highly dangerous women that despised each other? Certainly not. Rabastan hurried to the stairs, making his way up and stopping just around the corner from Rodolphus' room, should he be needed for... damage control.

My inner fangirl is dying. says:
Both Rodolphus and Emilie had awoken at the scream that Bellatrix gave out. "What the hell are you doing in my house, whore?" He said coldly, grabbing his wand up and pointing it straight at her. "OUT!"

R.A.B.ycus says:
'Not a good start,' Rabastan thought, pulling out his wand but remaining silent.

Severus says:
Bella backed out of the room quickly, slamming the door shut, and simply blinking at it. Had she been replaced so quickly? Not that she could exactly blame him... she'd run away with Augustus Rookwood. She turned around after a moment and leaned against the door with a furiously beating heart.

My inner fangirl is dying. says:
"Sorry," he murmured to Emilie after the girl had left the room. "I don't know what the hell she wanted." He offered the smallest of smiles to the french girl before resting his head back down on the pillow. He doubted he'd be able to fall back to sleep, though.

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan slowly moved his head around the corner, waiting for Bella to notice him before he said anything. Just in case.

Severus says:
After a few agonizing minutes, Bella saw Rabastan. She moved toward him without warning and crumpled into his arms. "I'm so stupid!" She sobbed.

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan's eyebrows raised, though he held his ground, and Bella. He gave her a sympathetic look. "You're just going to take that? You must have returned for a reason... And that reason had to be him... And you're just going to let the door close and be done with it?" He understood Rodolphus' reasons, of course; he had loved Emilie, or close enough. She was comfort. And he really didn't have to accept Bella, he supposed, but wasn't her returning on her own better than him dragging her back by the hair?

Severus says:
Bella knew that he was trying to comfort her, but she could not get the horrible feeling out of her throat, and stomach, and heart. "I left Gusty. I wanted to do what was right. I wanted to try to be a good fiancé to Rodolphus… and a good wife, one day… but… he’s got -her-… and he loves her, doesn’t he?… Why should I care? He certainly doesn’t… But I do!… Oh my god, Rabastan… what have I done?" Bella cried frantically. "I can't go in there..."

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan gently petted Bella's hair, something he had never done before. Hm. "Neither of you have a choice. He has to accept you, because he has to marry you. Emilie means nothing. You could learn to love Rodolphus, but you have to get him back first. I'll be right there, in case he uses force."

Severus says:
Learn to love him? Perhaps. But it would not be mutual. She would be lucky if he didn't use the Killing Curse when she walked into the room again. And she knew that it was a lie; Emilie meant everything. Emilie was going to haunt Bella's life forever, if not Rodolphus'. Nodding weakly, she let go of him and filled the space between herself and the door again. Holding her wand steady, she pushed the door open. "Rodolphus," she said in a voice that was somehow both firm -and- shaky, "I need to speak with you. Please."

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan stood just outside the doorway, from Rodolphus' view. Who knew? He may not be needed at all. '-That's- a laugh...'

My inner fangirl is dying. says:
His fist clenched by his side, before he pushed the blanket off and stood up. Grabbing a pair of boxers, he slid them on before walking over to her, his wand pointed straight at her. "Sure, I'll see you out and put up new wards. Let's go."

Severus says:
Bella's eyes avoided his quite naked body, for she knew she would be ill if she had to think too vividly of what he and Emilie had done together. She stepped into the corridor and used her wand to shut the door behind him. "Please," she repeated. "Please, let me talk." Doing something that she had never thought she would do, she swallowed her pride and fell to her knees. "Let me beg your forgiveness."

My inner fangirl is dying. says:
Rodolphus stared at the girl in disbelief. "Why would I want to forgive you?" His wand stayed firmly pointed to the girl, his eyes narrowing. "You broke off our engagement when you left me for sickle boy, no?" He spit on the ground next to her, "You're not worthy of being a Lestrange. You're such a narcissistic bitch."

Severus says:
"I made a horrible mistake," she said, staring not at his face, but as his feet. "I thought I was in love. I thought... foolishly... that I could defy you, and abandon you. I am just a stupid 17-year-old girl," she continued. She was effacing herself, degrading herself, but at the moment she knew it was what she had to do. "But I am... or was... your fiancé. I want more than anything to be your wife. I know that you are with... someone else now... but... if there is anyway for me to make it up to you, to earn back our engagement... I will do it."

R.A.B.ycus says:
'She won -me- over...' But Rodolphus was, of course, more stubborn than he.

My inner fangirl is dying. says:
"Just get out of my house," Rodolphus said in a quiet, dangerous voice. "Rabastan, would you mind escorting the whore out?" He was in no mood to accept her apologies nor did he wish to even consider them at this point. His hand did not falter as it continued to point straight at the Black girl.

Severus says:
Shivering, Bella got to her feet. She did not dare look at his face. She had failed. Ignoring her own tears, she walked past both brothers and silently descended the stairs.

R.A.B.ycus says:
"Rodolphus..." Rabastan began, but what could he say? He fully understood Rodolphus' view... But Bellatrix had just done something she'd never done in her life, he was sure, and would most likely never do again, considering the reaction it recieved. He merely followed Bella, finally catching up to her at the door. He put his hand on the knob first, blocking her way. "Bella, just.. give him... time?" He didn't really think it would do any good, but he didn't want to see her leave again. Then he had it. "Would you like to see something?" he whispered eagerly. If this didn't at least get a smile, nothing would.

Severus says:
"See what?" She asked gravely. She knew Rodolphus would never forgive her, and that being in his house any longer was a death sentence.

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan took her hand. "In my room." He smiled, finding it easier to just apparate, though it was unlikely Rodolphus would hear them. He bade her sit and waited until she did so, an eager smirk on his face.

Severus says:
Bella was utterly confused. Rabastan's room was the last place she expected to find herself. "Rabastan, I don't think I should be here... What is it?"

R.A.B.ycus says:
"It's fine. He doesn't know." He'd rather cheer her up. He slowly, for suspense, pulled out a ragged toy wolf. His smile wouldn't be banished.

Severus says:
Bella stared at the sewn pile of rags, slightly horrified. "Rabastan, I don't understand..." And yet somehow, it looked vaguely familiar to her. It's shape was that of a... a wolf? Memories flooded into Bella's mind with a painful vividness. "I remember this," she whispered, a tiny smile appearing on her lips. "I almost destroyed it."

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan smiled wider in return. "Rodolphus helped me lie. Loop was mine the whole time, I just didn't want you to hurt him."

Severus says:
Bella laughed. "Did he really?" Yes, she remembered. That had been the very day when she'd received her first kiss. But not from Miles Clapp. "How... noble of him." She took the ragged animal gingerly into her hand. "It is rather cute, in a disgusting way."

R.A.B.ycus says:
"Well, it was in a bit better shape, back then," Rabastan laughed softly. He guessed, too late, that it was a bad idea to mention his brother. He wouldn't do it again. "Severus is frightened to death of it. Says it must be 'diseased.'"

Severus says:
"Well, Severus isn't very fond of wolves, is he?" Bella smiled. "And wolves aren't very fond of me," she concluded. After all, Rodolphus' had gone so far as to piss on her. She scowled, knowing that Emilie had held it freely the night of his party. "I think I should go now."

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan tried not to laugh at that memory, but it wasn't hard when he saw her countenance change so dramatically. "I told you, he won't know. But where will you go, if you do leave?" That was his main worry. Would she go back to Augustus? Rabastan imagined -he- wasn't happy about being left, either.

Severus says:
"I can't go to my parents. They'll kick me out of the family if they discover what I‘ve done. And as Rodolphus considers Evan a 'French Whore', that wouldn't be so wise. And Gusty..." She shook her head. "That's out of the question." She paused for a moment. "I think I'll go to Alecto's."

R.A.B.ycus says:
"Alecto's here, Bella. You'd be staying with Amycus." Who gushes over her. That wouldn't  be wise, either.

Severus says:
"Oh? Still?" Bella blushed. "I'm sorry... I thought she'd gone home by now..." Her mind was elsewhere. "I suppose that leaves Lucius, or the castle."

R.A.B.ycus says:
"Just... decide something before you leave, Bella. That's all I ask. But I have ways of hiding you from him, if you would stay..." That sounded so cowardly, but it wouldn't be permanent. Rodolphus would see reason, eventually. Even if they merely waited for Emilie to fuck up.

Severus says:
"Stay here? That's impossible... I couldn't stand to stay here when..." She stopped herself from bringing up the subject of Emilie. "No, no. I'll visit with Lucius." She stood. "Thank you for all of your help."

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan sighed. He couldn't fight her; it would be too difficult to keep up the farce for the days they had left in the holiday. He gently took back his toy, replacing it where it had been--on the floor, the side of his bed away from the door. It didn't even occur to him. "I'll see you out, just in case he decides to exit his room."

Severus says:
Bella nodded and made her way out of the room, and down the stairs once more.

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan followed, opening the door for her. "I'll see you when school resumes, then," he told her sadly.

Severus says:
"Good-bye, Rabastan." Bella kissed his cheek, stepped outside, touched her levitating trunk lightly, and apparated away.

R.A.B.ycus says:
Rabastan sighed and shut the door. "Are you happy now, Rodolphus?" he whispered bitterly. And heard the tea kettle faintly calling him. "Bloody hell...!" He rushed into the kitchen, to find that most of the water had evaporated. He scowled and began to refill it.
