Hello, hello, how are you?

- General Info -
Name: Tori
Age: 26 (June 11, 1983)
Location: CT, USA

Hobbies: I love reading and writing. I read more than I write lately (I used to write poems, short stories, etc all the time. Journal writing used to be one of my favorite things and then tat fell to the wayside when I started working so many hours) I guess you can say one of my hobbies is my job(s). I teach preschool and I also teach Sunday School & I'm constantly looking out for new things to teach, new ways, and things to bring into the classroom. I also love jumping into the car and having nowhere in particular to go. But with gas prices, that doesn't happen so often anymore.

Favorite music: Country music. Love it. I also love pop-rock and oldies. My music collection is pretty eclectic and I really will listen to anything.

Favorite books: Since I'm such a huge fan of reading, putting down just one or two favorite books is almost impossible. I love underdog stories - the ones where someone is just completely in a hole of nothingness and pulls themselves out. I especially love these if they're true stories.

Favorite films: Wizard of Oz. My favorite movie of all time. Other than that, I'm constantly adding new ones to my list. John Q, Seven Pounds, Saw. My boyfriend has a huge collection of movies and so I'm slowly making my way through and some I really do fall in love with.

- More personal -
Sexuality: Straight
Do you smoke? Nope
Drink? Not so much anymore. The occasional drink maybe once a month.
Take drugs? Nope
Enjoy "partying"? Eh, not really. I like being w/ my friends at home. If we do go out, even though we're only 26/27 we're home by midnight.
Your political views: some views on the left, some views on the right
Your religious views: Christian

- Penpalling-related questions -
How long have you been penpalling? Started when I was little, stopped for a while, and have started again.

How many penpals do you have? 4 now, I'd like to have some more.

Do you ever stop writing to people, and if so, why? I try not to. I guess if we aren't' getting along anymore or if letters are superficial or ... things that are unforeseeable.

How long are your letters? Between 2-6 pages normally, never shorter sometimes longer

How long do you take to reply to letters? No longer than 4-5 days

Do you like to include small gifts with your letters? Sometimes. I'm a lil broke right now so not recently.

Do you write on nice stationary? Depends. Usually plain white, but I usually write with pretty colors.

Do you type your letters? Not normally

Yay for new friends!

Looking of penpals

State your name:  Stephanie
Age and/or birthday:  22; May 12
Location:  Kentucky, USA
Email address:

Your general interests in a nutshell:  I love photography..it is my main drive in life, now-a-days...well, that and writing.  I also love culture and people that are different than myself.  I am an anthropology major and am loving every minute of it, mainly because I have a chance to intereact and learn from people who come from totally different backgrounds as I.  I find that I am at peach with myself and encourage other people to do the same, even if the outlet you use to find your personal inner peace is totally different than mine.

Books you would recommend:  Anything by Chuck Palahniuk.  I also enjoy Sylvia Plath,
Francesca Lia Block, Gurney Norman, Anne Rice's early stuff, and several different ethnographies.

Your favorite movies:  I love independant films, such as Easy, Four Sheets to the Wind, and many, many others.  I plan to start doing movie reviews sometime in the near future.

The music you'd die without:  I would die without music in general.  I play in a jazz band for fun but we have never really preformed, since our members change with too often to "settle" into a real band.  So, yeah, I obviously like jazz.  I also like Ash Wednesday, Carbon Leaf, Goo Goo Dolls, Better than Ezra, Dishwalla, Gin Blossoms....the list could go on forever

You collect:  I collect adventures and stories.

Issues you feel strongly about:  I feel that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and lifestyles...as long as they can truely find peace within themselves, I have no qualms with people who are not within my religon, sexuailty, politcal stance, whatever.

The maximum number of pen-pals you are looking for:  5-6
The age range of your future pen-pal(s):  19-30
What is your preferred pen-pal gender?:  Female only
Where should your pen-pal(s) be from?:  Anywhere; I am working on my German and Italian, if anybody is interested in helping me along

seeking penpals ...

Dear world,
I am looking for a few more pen pals, from anywhere, and of any gender.
I am one
biological female,
undergraduate in college (art and english),
21 years old,
currently living in massachusetts (USA).

I write long letters and usually include zines or other interesting little things (sometimes my zines but usually others I happen on). Currently my favorite writers are Murakami, Winterson, and Nabokov, but I'm all about George R.R.Martin stories, Neil Gaiman's work, and all kinds of Indy comics (thompson, ware, brown). I mention the extras for no real reason (no one has to reciprocate) but it is good to share longish-lettering.

(more at my profile)

Are you interested? Comment or e-mail me at laughing.anima@agmail.com

No, thanks. I consider TV shows stupid. The same for celebrities and their gossip. And mainstream culture in general:)

Biggest Loves:

art, feminism, russia, animal rights, enviromental, urban studies, deconstruction, art history, human rights, tokyo street fashion, achievement, anti - war, big cities, handwritten letters, cyberpunk, hand analyzing, old skool tattoos, henna, philosophy, feeling different, diversity, colored pencils, cultural education, anti -racism, tarot, big cities, theatrical improvisation, art galleries, equality, high heels (actually really high heels), impulsiveness, silent films, thrift stores, knowledge, libraries, constant motion, diy, recycling, intelligence, mysticism, life, red lipstick, book shops.

About me:

I am a girl. You can call me Anisa. I live in Eastern Europe at the moment, but I plan to move to another country sooner or later. I'm a feminist. I don't eat meat or use any animal products. When I need money I work as a street musician/performer. I believe that the pure art is the one that comes from the streets. I prefer living my dreams than dreaming. I love looking at the night sky and getting lost in the city. I don't believe in God. In fact, I believe that God is a very cruel person. (And I'd never believe in a male creature too). I respect your beliefs but you have to respect mine too. The only thing I can't tolerate is any form of intolerance. I'm a contradiction, but very friendly if you get to know me.

About you:

I'd like to hear from people with whom I have at least something in common. I don't know if I have something to say when someone talks about TV shows or their favorite celebrities. Then, I'd love to hear from European people, but if you think you have something in common, feel free to write me:) Last, I'm looking for friends who don't disappear. I'm not interested in writing to someone who picks me because of my location (actually, I won't mention it here) or someone who says he's my friend and then I never hear from him anymore.
