An Overall Feeling of Doom that One Cannot Ever Escape No Matter What One Does [30 Mar 2010|12:08am]

[ mood | sleepy ]

One can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in small ways.
~Lemony Snicket, The Penultimate Peril

Life is a turbulent journey, fraught with confusion, heartbreak, and inconvenience. This Facebook group will not help. But for those who wonder about an overall feeling of doom that one cannot ever escape no matter what one does, as well as miscellaneous things I've neglected to mention in specific: An Overall Feeling of Doom One Cannot Ever Escape No Matter What One Does.

A message from Lemony Snicket [24 Feb 2009|12:27pm]

February 2009

Dear Reader,

Are you interested in being one of the first people to get a glimpse of the alarming events in Lemony Snicket’s new book The Composer Is Dead, which won’t arrive in bookstores until March? Because if you aren’t, you certainly should not immediately Browse Inside.

With all due respect,

Lemony Snicket

Hi, I just finished the series and celebrated by making a post with a favorite-character poll. I figured I link it here, so I actually get the opinion of some fans: http://nemesister.livejournal.com/17861.html Please feel at home at my journal.

Sorry for sounding so inappropriately cheerful, but the end of The End left me in a rather good mood.

    Hi! [03 Feb 2007|09:30am]

    [ mood | accomplished ]

Hey, I'm new to this community^^ A Series of Unfortunate Events is one of my favorite books and I will be putting up some graphics, fics, and eventually some videos^^

    [18 Jan 2007|11:30pm]

I just finished watching the ASOUE movie two days ago, and some of the scenes were too lovely not to icon. :) They made some really good choices for the casting, and I rather liked the movie as a whole. ♥

    024 x Emily Browning
    248 x Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

( The movie you are about to see is extremely unpleasant. If you wish to see a film about a happy little elf, I'm sure there is still plenty of seating in theatre number two. However, if you like stories about clever and reasonably attractive orphans... )

Fun for the whole family -- not to be found in this post [06 Jan 2007|11:45pm]

    Cross-posted to _lemonysnicket and asoueart.

    Dear Reader,

If you have found this post on your friends list, then I suggest you find some new friends. Within this post are five images of three extremely unfortunate individuals, and viewing even one of them is sure to reduce you to tears until you have come to believe you have, in fact, no friends in this world.

These images are what may be considered "historical," which here implies that since the time of their depictions here, the subjects of these images have, in all cases, since grown older, and, in some cases, since stopped.

For your own sake, I suggest that you look elsewhere on the list of communications from your friends and associates, and possibly villains disguised as associates of your friends, or disguised as friends of your associates, and under no circumstances click on the link below.

    With all due respect,

Post-script: "ASP" here refers to the initials of the author, and not to the poisonous snake best known for its appearances in the collection of herpetologist Montgomery Montgomery, and the acclaimed film by Gustav Sebald, Snakes on a Plane.

I really hope this is allowed (might be iffy since it's not strictly Snicket)... If not, feel free to delete.

prufock_pagb is my new RP. It is multi-fandom, but since it takes place in the ASOUE-verse (Prufock Prep), it'd be awesome to get some ASOUE canon characters in there (especially Olaf. Seriously). There's only one character so far (the RP's brand new), and that's Esme, so please join and spread the Snicket love! :D

    Question... [18 Nov 2006|09:01pm]

Hi I am brand new here and I have a question about the future of the series or should I say the future of Lemony Snicket's work. I was just browsing amazon.com and searched under Lemony Snicket and he had a couple of new works coming out in May 2007 and I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them. The website doesn't give any information about what the book is about.

Series of Unfortunate Events #1: Or, Orphans! (A Series of Unfortunate Events) (Paperback)--$6.99 ISBN: 0061146307 It is 224 pages long.

Series of unfortunate events #2: Or, Murder! (A Series of Unfortunate Events) (Paperback) --$6.99 ISBN: 0061146315 It is also 224 pages long.

There was only one comment on the website that suggested that these were the paperback versions of the originals, but I don't know if that is true or not because The Bad Beginning has 162 pages and The Reptile Room has only 208 pages. There are no pictures as of yet and this is not even on Barnes & Noble's website yet.

Just wanted to know if y'all knew anything about this. Thanks.

Smile! No one cares how you feel! [08 Nov 2006|04:44pm]

I found these videos on Google. They're from a book talk with Daniel Handler (Mr.Snicket doesn't show up, though he's supposed to) and Stephen Merrit with some help from the audience.

/\Where's Mr. Snicket? PLUS:This Abyss and Smile! No one cares how you feel by Mr. Merrit and Mr. Handler
Scream and Run Away! Love that song.

The End of the End [02 Nov 2006|03:52pm]

Hello, i am unfortunately new to this community. Glad i found it though. Anyways i have just finished The End and really enjoyed it. I have a few questions though that perhaps you all can answer for me. I do not know the answers. This is for those of you who have read all the books.

May be a spoiler for those of you who have not read it, so questions are under the cut. Thank you.
