In an article in Brio, a Christian magazine...

"I was hoping you could tell me about the bands Korn and Slipknot. My boyfriend listens to these groups 24/7.

Oelrichs, S.D."

"I've reviewed five Korn albums. All of them dwell on hatred, despair, and twisted sexuality. The band's frontman, Jonathan Davis, vents his rage with obscene language and violent threats such as "Mercy I cannot allow/Through your face my fist will plow/Watching as your blood pours down." Trust me it gets much worse. And it seems the people closest to Jonathan are in the greatest danger. "Dead Bodies Everywhere" and the grisly "Kill You" talk about wanting to murder parents. On "My Gift To You" Jonathan fantasizes about choking his girlfriend to death while being intimate with her.
"Slipknot isn't much better. Misery. Hopelessness. Venom. On one song the band claims to be "sittin' on the side of Satan." On others they toy with suicide. Girlfriends fare just as poorly here as they do in Korn's music. For instance, on "Iowa" a guy murders the woman he loves in a sick act of affection. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. While I don't know your boyfriend, dating someone steeped in this stuff 24/7 can't be healthy for you."

Hi thanks for letting me in the community.

I'm a big fan of KoRn, in particular Jon Davis.

I am currently in love with the most recent album "Take a Look in the Mirror" and I'm very much looking forward to the release of "Souvenir of Sadness". Though my all-time favourite song is "Falling Away from Me".

"Fight the Power"

I'm just curious, why are people so pissed off at Korn for covering "Fight the Power"??? I know that it is a hip-hop song, but the members of Korn are fans of hip-hop. Their music has traces of hip-hop in it. It's just weird that people are mad about that. "Fight the Power" is a good song and different from rap songs nowadays.

And this is coming from me reading some of the stuff written about the song in a Korn message board. I just want to hear what others think.
