Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

Used to be that the Amtrak site was actually useful *heh* Guess that's changed.

It's been a few years since I've had to call them, but when I did, I did get decent service... someone who knew what was going on and how to get from pointA to pointB.

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

Nowadays you get to talk to "Julie", who's their version of an inflatable doll. ahahahaha! Try it if you don't have anything else to do for a while, at the toll-free number...maybe they have someone like "Hoser Julie, eh?" for you guys up there...

ahahaha!

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

*laugh* Ah yes, the voice-run IVR... MSN has that and, recently, Rogers got it up here. I hate it... with a frickin' passion.

Seriously. I just hit zero to get an operator. Swiftly.

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

Oh yeah, it's crap in the extreme. I go for the zero too, and today ran into one where you had to speak out loud to the frigging machine, no bypass available!!!!!!!!!!!!! You had to say aloud the account number, or "I'm sorry; I don't have one". I guess it was Xerox...weeners! I hung up...

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

I'd have hung up too.
I don't like talking to machines... particularly when I have to talk SLOWLY and CAREFULLY *sigh*

It's just slow and frustrating.

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

Should we just friend each other while we're at it? Seems okay by me...

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

I do.
I know most of my friends list, at least to meet and chat with for a short bit.
Being a DJ, doing conventions and festivals, I know a staggering number of folk. I enjoy the heck out of it, though I do occasionally need the odd downtime moment to hide away in some peace and quiet *grin*

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

...yeah, that's the benfit to me of living in boonienowehereville, but being able to travel. I would get my nerves fried living in a city fulltime, but I pop into NY or other places for a weekend, which usually includes some buddhist teachings, so that actually protects me in a certain way, having the contact with a cool teacher daily. I just have to get some good money, and then I'll come and visit this convention-thing and dance around. Hmm, I had been hoping to catch a ride last year with some of the NY crowd, but we've never met personally, and I can't blame them for being reticent about saying, 'sure, be wedged in our car for x number of hours even if you might be horrible' without meeting me...

Re: but where is Kinvention not-north...?

The NY crowd is actually pretty decent folk. I know a stack o'kin from that area of the world and I do NYC myself at least once a year... more if I can.

I handle high energy environments pretty decently for an old guy *heh* But I do need periodic grounding... 'bout once a day in a high stress situation like a convention, for an hour or so.

Having connections to folk who ground you is always a good thing *nod*grin*
