Hello! I hate newbie posts, but as I'm a newbie I'm going to have to do one anyway! I've liked KaitO for aaaaaaaaaaaaageeeeees now, if you look on the KaitO website under the reviews section for the montigola underground ep (i think, it was ages ago) i scanned the review thing from Kerrang (when i used to get it, not sure why, hehe!)
I was going to go see them in December supporting Pretty Girls Make Graves, and I was a loooot more excited about KaitO than I was about PGMG (although I do like them too!) And then it got cancelled, gosh darn it. Ever since my friend Joe introduced me to them I've been dying to go see them but they've never been to Manchester that I've been aware of or if they have I haven't been able to go.
The only KaitO thing that I own is the Montigola Underground EP which I bought when I was sick of looking for You've seen us.... you must have seen us, and not being able to find it. I was so desperate to own something by them that I bought it despite its rip off price tag... oh well!
I wish KaitO were more well known over here, but I have just seen the Should I video on the amp (the second KaitO video that I've ever seen, I saw the video for shoot shoot once on late night mtv2, hurrah) so maybe things are looking up?

I'm rambling now!!! And I really need to get you've seen us.......... and band red (although they haven't released that over here yet, the cheeky little monkeys) Ho hum. I did actually see you've seen us... in hmv the other day but it was something stupid like £16.99 ($30, as I'm gathering that most of you are american!) so.... i didn't buy it. They have it for £11.99 or £10.99 ($21 and $21 respectively) on amazon though I think, and as I can't see me finding them any cheaper anywhere I will just have to splash out a bit!

ANYWAY. I'm really going to stop rambling and go away now, byeeeee!

ah kaito...
well, i first heard kaito when they came here (fresno, california) in, i believe, march of 2002. i hadn't heard them before i saw the show. i wondered how good could they be, it's fresno! but i was totally blown away. i hung out with dave after the show and we talked for a long time. then they came back for another show and that was awesome too. at the first show hardly anyone came and me and my friend were the only ones dancing. by the time they came again EVERYONE was dancing! while they were here we went to see some other cool bands play and just hung out. we had a wicked good time. i've also seen them play at this steak house about an hour away from my town. and also at the bottom of the hill in SF. it's been a great experience getting to hang out with them and watching them grow as a band. i could write an entire essay on my kaito experiences, but i've said enough already! kaito is as cool as it gets! i hope i get to see them play again someday.

kaito a go go...
So hello, I've created this community for like minded fans of the wonderful british band Kaito. In the somewhat likely event that I simply end up talking to myself in here I'll refrain from getting too carried away from the get go.

So if you're unfamiliar, who are Kaito? They've been around for a few years now, yet they sound as refreshing as a band thats barely begun. They're a little Sonic Youth, a little Clinic, a little Yeah Yeah Yeahs, a little this, a little that, but don't expect to hear any of those bands when you actually put on a Kaito album for the first time.

I like their randomly yet purposely crafted songs and their acutely clever use of effects. I love the way they seem to spiralling out of control, even in their more tender moments.

They've just cancelled some shows in the U.K. Hopefully this is to save themselves for a big tour of Australia in the near future (oh how I wish)...
