movehalfaninch
Anybody listen to La Roux?

They're a great band from the UK thats getting a lot of buzz. I can't get enough of their music. "Bulletproof" is probably my favorite song of 2009 so far.

They are having an awesome remix contest with some sweet prizes. Check it out . Click here! They also have a widget full of videos and pics and music and a bunch of goodies. Check it out here!

Hey everyone!
Has anyone heard the new Brazilian band Telepathique? They remind me of CSS meets punk infused house beats and I absolutely love them!!!
You can read what Spin magazine thinks about the band AND download a free mp3 of their song "Love and Lust" here: http://spin.com/articles/catch-buzz-telepathique

Hope you guys agree!

Dance music DIVA and DIVO for August!! [16 Aug 2007|12:00pm]

johnnydivo
Hey all!
Just a warning in advance that this will be cross posted in a few places ;)

Just wanted to let you know that my dance music website (www.divadivodance.com) has been updated with the "DIVA and DIVO of the Month" for AUGUST: DJ Colette and Chris Willis!

I know a lot of you have learned of the site through LiveJournal, but let me explain for newbies: I run an online magazine for dance music fans. Every month we add a feature story and interview on one female and one male artist (our DIVA and DIVO of the month - get it? ;)) Anyway, we also have tons of music reviews, a DIVA DIVO radio, and a daily BEAT BLOG where me and my friend Jade post every day... with news, gossip and tidbits about dance music. We usually manage to get you sneak previews, too... last month our site traffic DOUBLED when we posted the video for Kristine W "Walk Away" a week before its official release... and we also have the famed clip of Madonna's "Candy Shop," her demo with Pharrell Williams that she recorded for her upcoming album. (Don't let Madge find out - she'll kill us! haha)

Anyway, check out the site and congrats to our new DIVA and DIVO: Colette and Chris!!

Later,
Johnny

New DANCE MUSIC website: DIVA DIVO! [06 Mar 2007|03:39pm]

johnnydivo
Hey everybody,

Wanted to let you know about a new, online magazine for dance music fans: DIVA DIVO!

Basically, it's for people who love hot, mainstream dance music... those who sing it, spin it, and dance to it. Every month, the site highlights a featured DIVA and DIVO. Plus there's weekly CD reviews, tour dates, and a daily BEAT BLOG that me and my pal, Jade, keep up on a regular basis.

This month, we kick off with AMBER (who, by the way, contributed a special videotaped welcome on the front page!) and LUCAS PRATA.AND we rank the 20 Greatest Dance Songs of the 2000s. Plus plenty more.

Check out the site, check out the blog... and check it daily, cause there's always something new!

Hope you like the site! And please, spread the word!!

Well probably against my better judgement I decided to join this community. Must've been the image of 2 Unlimited as they are my fav 90s Dance group. I loved so many of their tracks especially Twilight Zone, No One, and Get Ready For This.

I love this song, Karaja's "She Moves (la la la). I was wondering if Karaja has a full-length album out. As far as I know, I don't think she does...all I found on Amazon.com was the single. (and usually if something isn't on amazon.com it probably doesn't exist!) The song is from, I think, about 2003. I think there would have been an album by now. Any news on this? thanks.

Peace out!

Omgosh, Hi I'm new. I'm Bridget and I flippin' love eurodance...

Anyway, who sings the song "Free" I think that's what it's called. I remember hearing the song in an episode of 'The Venture Brothers' and somewhere else. I really like this song. So if someone knows or would like to share it... that'd be really really nice <3

Hey music experts! I need your help again! :-)

Who sings that techno-dance song "Something"? It's about like 3 years old. There's a part in it where they say "hold me in your arms...".

Gee this community used to be so busy and jumpin', but now there are hardly any posts anymore....where did everybody go?

Peace out!

Juicecaster.com [07 Mar 2006|04:56pm]

juicecaster

There's a free new site called juicecaster.com which allows you to create webcasts and stream media such as audio and video from a juicecaster profile. This can either be viewed by a computer or a mobile phone. By doing this, you can take these webcasts and search from key words and locations. Which- if you do this from a phone, allows you direct promotions at clubs or other places. It's a great thing for musicians and artist to be able to build exposure for themselves or promote an upcoming event. And for supporters of all ages to connect with each other.
This site is still in development stages but features technology not predicted to be out until 2007.

My apologies for any rule breaking. This is meant to spread the word about juicecaster in hopes that people will be interesting in joining up and posting cool content- Not as a spam message.
Feel free to comment with any questions.
Thank you.

Milk Inc. in North America? [14 Dec 2005|06:50am]

ljdxs
So I've been perplexed about this for the better part of a year or two.

From what I can tell, Lasgo gets frequent radio play in the U.S., Sylver also gets play. (I'm in the NYC area so I base it on that and what I've heard otherwise.) But I've never heard anyone in the U.S., from DJ's (radio, college, local clubs) to enthusiasts / club goers, mention or play Milk Inc. besides me and friends that I introduced it to. (I first heard of Milk online.) I'm sure the act's got its critics but it's very popular in Europe and has a sound close enough to Lasgo's that you'd think Milk would get some exposure. Plus it does have catchy songs.

So has anyone in North America actually heard mention of Milk Inc. offline or actually heard it on the radio, in a club or from someplace else not online? And from anyone outside North Am. or Europe, how's Milk Inc.'s exposure where you're at?

Does anyone have this disc, the cd insert, know any of the artists? Any and all info would be extremely appreciated! Also, there is a song that goes something like...."There's gonna be a new el dorado, it's gonna be a good time something, something, something...." Anyone know the artist or song? TIA

Hi, my name is Amanda and I'm from the uK. I absolutely love 90's music, especially the early 90's, so I decided to join this community, since i also like a lot of the groups on the interests like la bouche, 2 unlimmited and and culture beat. I think the best time for music was 92 to 95, and my favourite year is 94, as that year had the most catchy euro dance songs.

Anyway I'll stop for now, because if I don't I could go on for ages talking about all the good 90's songs, and then I'd have nothing to say for other posts, so bye for now!
