Due to recent attacks in Hogsmeade, students are no longer allowed to be outside of the school building after dark until further notice. Any students caught sneaking out after dark will immediately be dealt a month's detention with Mr Filch, no questions asked.

Good day,
Professor Minerva McGonagall

[OWL FROM: Cursa Black, Regulus' and Sirius' mother]

Regulus, my son--

How are you? The news of that Harts' deaths must have reached your ears by now--and if they haven't, I hope you will get your nose out of whatever book you're reading and focus on the real happenings of the world. I trust Narcissa to keep you in line.

You should not worry about this girls parents' deaths. They were always annoying to your father's and your Uncle's cause. Though, I swear on my honour as a Black, we had no part in this, it will help further our dealings with Dumbledore's idiotic policy of enrolling Mudbloods in that school of yours. I would pull you out of there, but that would be a show of weakness, and that is the one thing that we Blacks never show.

Have you received any sort of news from Bellatrix? Your aunt Cleneatha is simply sick with worry--a thing that contradicts that we never show weakness, but that woman was never strong in the beginning.

Be a dear and help your mother out here, Regulus. She is starting to act like a commonborn witch, complaining of her woes all the time--just one piece of news of her daughter will satisfy her. Rewards will be presented to those who assist their family members.

I do hope your 'brother' isn't causing too much commotion. Two owls from Hogwarts have arrived already about his plights at school, and it's not even a month into the school year! I had hoped that this year would be better, but I suppose not.

Do try to stay in the real world for once, not the fictional one.

Your mother,
Cursa Black
