China's democracy

How do you think about China’s democracy?

Chinese fugitive Lai Changxing, the prime suspect in China's largest smuggling case in recent history, left Vancouver Friday for his home country under Canadian police escort.


He may face life imprisonment.


In the aftermath of 2008 Sichuan earthquake, many local governments promised to formally investigate the school collapses, but as of July 17, 2008 across Sichuan, parents of children lost in collapsed schools complained they had yet to receive any reports.


As for the Gross National Happiness and suicide rate, the statistic says China ranks better than that of in Japan. But does it mean Chinese people are more satisfied with their life at large than us?


In China there is a notorious Great Firewall which regulates on the use of the Internet. They don’t have freedom of using internet.


Some says China may change to democracy as economic situation improves.


The reality is China executed between 5,000 and 6,000 people in 2007, down from 10,000 in 2005.


Chinese government does not allow for anti government political activities like Dalai Lama at all.
