The most withering of human experiences is to not be understood by another.

For them to take your words out of context. To place preconceptions or classifications upon your head. To shame you. To not acknowledge your experience as genuine. For them to not know that you, and they, are human beings.

This is to be outcast from the tribe that is humanity.

This is to be shivering in the cold, too far from the warmth of the fire we feel in community.

And this is the source of much of the neurosis that exists in the world today, whether it be systemic poverty or someone abusing another human being. This is the reason for evil to exist.
