Tekken 6 - Bloodline Rebellion|
You may or may not have heard, but the arcade version of Tekken 6 will have an upgrade/update coming this December, akin to how Tekken 5 had Dark Resurrection.
As of yet, there's a couple of blurry pictures of two new characters, Alisa Boskonovich (perhaps Dr. B's daughter referred to in T3) and Lars Alexanderson.
At the AM show this weekend in Japan, there is supposed to be a video shown for this update.
Nothing has been announced about if and how this will affect the still unreleased PS3 version; my personal guess being not at all, and PS3 users will remain at least 1 year behind arcade gamers with BR eventually being a PSP port or downloadable upgrade of some kind, just like DR.
ArcadeUFO in Austin opened a few weeks ago, and word has it that they have Tekken 6. The blog on their site says they have working pad ports for the game, so I might just take a trip up there to scope it out sometime.
Full-Body CGs at Tekken Zaibatsu
Tekken Zaibatsu now has full-body CG art of Tekken 6 characters. Not all are uploaded yet, there's a total of 14 so far (including Devil Jin, yay). You have to download the files to check 'em out, but they are in high-quality, a nice resolution, and transparent (which is awesome/convenient for wallpaper-making). They look great, so if interested, I recommend downloading them or at least those of your favorite characters. The site seems to be going in alphabetical order.
Just when is Tekken 6 coming to PS3 anyway?
At the PlayStation Premiere event in Japan last year, Namco indicated the PS3 version would come out within year (or one year depending on which site you read) of arcade release. That would put it at November/December this year at the latest. At a NamcoBandai event earlier this year in April, a Namco rep told SDTekken, unofficially, that T6 was still planned for release this year.
However, since that time, Namco has taken no further actions to inform console gamers of...well, anything really, about this game.
Maybe we'll see something at TGS this year (Oct. 9th-12th), maybe not. Only time will tell.
