fellow kennedy fans, i have a request!
have you ever been put in a position to defend your passion for the kennedy family?
i ask because my government teacher chose a day when i was gone from class to talk about the JFK assasination. he gave some very biased background information on the family, knowing very well that had i been in class i would have disagreed with a lot of it. he questioned his character, and kept the discussion completely one-sided against JFK. when informed of this the next day i was very upset and went to talk to my teacher. he rolled his eyes a bit but told me that he would let me make my case to his classes sometime this week.
i'm wondering what you would say if you were in my position, being as honest and sincere as possible, (keeping the obvious flaws in mind) to encourage high-school students to respect the kennedy family despite a biased influence.
So they just said that Ted has a malignant brain tumor.
CNN said that usual treatment is chemotherapy and radiation.
Keep the Kennedy's in your thoughts, guys :[
Hello! I am so happy to have found this community. To make a long story short, I got engaged nearly 2 months ago, and started listening to an old favorite song of mine, Tori Amos's "Jackie's Strength," again, and as a result started getting pretty interested in JFK and Jackie. I just finished Sarah Bradford's wonderful biography of Jackie called "America's Queen" which I really recommend! Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone can link me to a youtube video or a sound clip of Jackie talking, because I keep reading about how breathy and "different" her voice was, but the only one I can find is her speaking in Spanish, and she doesn't sound girlish or breathy at all and it would be nice to be able to actually understand what she's saying! (I took French. Bah.)
I'm also coincidentally getting married on September 12 of next year, which was JFK and Jackie's wedding day, although we didn't know it when we chose the date! It made me grin. :)
Anyhow, anybody have any clips of Jackie speaking in English?
