broken by an eating disorder

This is a community meant to support people with anorexia, bulimia, ed-nos, compulsive overeating, and any other eating disorder. We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe here. This is NOT a dieting community or a place to come for tips on how to lose weight. If you come in here asking for tips on "Ana/Mia" or how to become "Ana/Mia", you will be kicked out immediately. This is for people who have a serious mental, emotional, and physical problem. As for you girls who do have an E.D., feel free to encourage and support eachother in any ways you find helpful. This community is for YOU. Hopefully it will become a place where you feel completely at home. We will do our best to protect you in every way possible. Some things in this community may be triggering, so if you are in recovery please don't join.

1.) No one without an E.D. is welcome. (Please note that ed-nos is an E.D. If you don't fit the description of anorexia or bulimia, but you restrict, binge and purge, or just have a distorted self-image, you are welcome here.)
2.) No arguing with the Mod, broken_angel627. If I think a post is inappropriate and remove it, just let it go. No big deal.
3.) Please put all pictures behind an LJ cut. Some people are viewing at work or school and it is easier for them to get caught if someone sees a picture of your body on their screen.
4.) Misdiagnoses and/or calling your eating disorder by pet names is NOT tolerated! It will result in your instant removal from the community.

Our daughter communities:

The point of these communities is not to see who can lose the most weight the fastest or move to the next community the quickest. Don't misinterpret them. They are pro-support for each weight type. They are communities that encourage members on their personal goals while giving them the comfort of being around others in the same category they are so that everyone can feel equal, comfortable, and easy with talking about image and numbers with those who understand exactly where they are.

When you join the community please post an introduction questionare along these lines:

ED that you have

This community is based on the song "Broken Angel" by Hanson. It reminds me so much of having an eating disorder. See if you can relate:

So small and yet still so proud
At night before she dreams, she looks into the clouds
A high flyer's what I want to be
Seems they won't let me; says I'm too small
I don't feel small at all

Break my dreams, that's what they'll do
Well I'm going to run away and learn to fly like you
I'm going to go so high and swoop so low
You can't bring me down
Gon' be so proud

Little angel, you've got to learn to fly
Get up and earn your wings tonight
Little angel, just look in my eyes
Get up and earn your wings tonight

Push and shove, then climb aboard
This is the shuttle train to the top of the world
When you look around what do you see?
These are all high flyers
But none of these high flyers look like me

What is that supposed to mean?

What am I supposed to be?

I pull my way up through this crowd
To find your body crushed on the ground
It's so obvious
Why couldn't you see
That you can't go high flying
Without a pair of high-flyer wings?

Little one's broken lying on the ground
Trying to get up 'till her last breath out
Wings are strewn everywhere, there's blood all around
'Cause even angels die; that light just fades
She'd be so sad, but she'd be so proud

Broken angel, you've got to learn to fly
Get up and earn your wings tonight
Broken angel, just look in my eyes
Get up and earn your wings tonight
Get up and earn your wings
Earn your wings tonight

Thanks to for the layout.

A VERY special thanks to iateforyoutoday for her help with this and it's daughter communities.
