4. What are your hobbies/interests outside of HP? How do you feel these hobbies/interests contribute to your personality? My interests include performing, in terms of drama, music, singing and mostly creative aspects like drawing, photoshopping and writing. I think these particular interests contribute to my personality in a creative-wise way, I'm a really creative and expressive person in so many different ways - basically through mainly those interests and hobbies of mine. My performing interests I think kinda represent my skills to interact with people kinda confidently... I don't mind taking risks, which is why I perform, It's always really unpredictable, what may happen, how things may go. It's the entire thrill of it that I strive for. I also like to have spotlight, it comes from performance I guess. I'm not an attention striver, but I like people to know me for good things, i hate to be left in the shadows.
Hmmm...what else...Oh yeah, I love sports, not just coz it's fun and I love to interact with people whilst playing, but I think it's also because I'm competetive and it's enjoyable to have a challenge and try to do really well in a game.

5. Which Harry Potter character do you feel you can relate to the most? Explain. Which character is your favorite? Again, explain. I think I relate most to Ginny Weasley most. She's quite fun-loving, playful and cheeky which is like me. I'm always trying to make the most out of all situations and have fun =D sometimes to the expense of people around me, hehe. Ginny is very social and comfortable in her own skin...which is practically me, cept the whole confidence thing, I'm confident MOST of the time. However, she knows how to act during serious times and is always there to support her friends. I'm usually very nice, and happy but I do have a hidden temper and am NOT good to be around when I'm in a bad mood, or anyone goes against me or my friends, same as Ginny, though I can't perform any kind of jinxes on people. Lastly, Ginny is an intelligent girl, she doesn't swamp herself with work like Hermione, yet knows when she needs to really get cracking with studying. I'm quite balanced out like her in terms of academics and I pick up concepts very quickly.
My favourite character is DEFINITELY Ron. His great sense of humour and strange wit is very entertaining. I'd love to meet a person like him because he seems so interesting to be around, and so easy to start a simple conversation with. I hate people who you can't have an easy conversation with. Ron may sometimes be shy, but I think we'd get along especially in strange little conversations I'd assume we'd have =/ lol.

6. Give us the reasons for and against you being sorted into each of the houses.
a. Gryffindor
For: I always stand up for people and what I believe in. If someone is hurting another in an absolutely horrible way for no reason, I'll say something. I like to do my bit for the planet and people around the world. I sponsor a child in a different country for World Vision, and although i'm not a nature fanatic, I run around shrieking "TOSSER!!!!" when someone drops their garbage onto the ground, I hate seeing that. I'm also INCREDIBLY loyal to my friends and family, I would help them in any way possible in situations where they need someone.
Against. I'm not so courageous, especially when it comes to confrontation. I can't immediately go up and talk to a certain person about something they're doing that's bugging me, I tend to wait a while till i can't absolutely stand it.

b. Hufflepuff
For: I'm silly and mixed. I'm not just one main persona, which is why I can interact with so many different kind of people. I'm very social and fun loving...kind of strange as well, but that's life!
Against: Helga Hufflepuff [according to the sorting hat] said "I'll take the rest" or something along those lines when talking about taking people into her house. That simple line would make me feel insignificant that I don't have any 'stand out' traits to go into the other houses and that i'm just 'one of the rest'. I love the spotlight alot, like not so I'm crazy and will do anything to stand out, just that I can't stand being wrapped as just ordinary. Anyway, the type of person I am isn't really 'ordinary' anyway...I'm too insane for that :D

c. Ravenclaw
For: I'm pretty intellectual, I've maintained good marks through all my years at school. In life I have a good amount of knowledge and common sense and like to have a good intellectual conversation.
Against: I don't like being confined to constant work. It would be intimidating to be in a house full of intelligent people, I'm too social and fun-loving to be always into study. I'm also probably not serious enough to belong to a house full of intellectuals, as the 'ravenclaws' are supposed to be. I love to be silly and have fun.

d. Slytherin
For: I'm competetive. In many aspects of life, aka performing, sports. I like to make a significant impact on situations and not be forgotten easily.
Against: I'm not a backstabber as the 'typical' slytherin is 'selfish'. I'm waaaayy too loyal to my friends for that and could never bring myself to betray someone.

7. What was your least favorite moment in HP? When Dumbledore died. His character brought warmth and a sense of security and safety to the plotline of the story, making you think that every character at hogwarts was out of danger as long as he was around to come to the rescue. Without him there's a certain amount of lonelyness and insecurity amongst the characters.

8. What about HP appeals to you (e.g. the romance, the adventure, the friendships, the fantasy, the mystery)? The fantasy, the thought of being able to use magic, and the existance of it in our 'normal world' [i mean, a train in the middle of london going to a magic school?], it enhances your imagination.

9. What would you do if your friend was in danger? What would you give up in order to save them? Would you lay your life on the line? If my friend was in danger, I would lay my life on the line for them, no question. I mean, it sounds all 'try hard noble' and alot of people say they would just to look good, but I'm very serious. All of my friends have made such great sacrifices for me, and if they were in life danger, and left when I could have done something to save them I wouldn't be able to get over it for the rest of my life. AWAY from the life threatening stuff, if say, i was out with some person I liked and my friend called and needed help, and wanted me to do something simple as call them back or go and pick them up, I'd have to tell my date that my friend came first. If they were 'right' for me anyway, then they'd understand, and if they didn't then meh, no loss.

10. Given a choice between fame and money, which would you choose? Money, then I'd be able to support my family and provide for them. Fame is a funny little thing that either you have a small dose of, and spend the rest of your life wanting more and more, or you get too much that it's ruining your private life. Money is much easier to go with.

11 If you could only store one memory in the Pensieve to visit over again, which one would it be? Why? My 16th birthday. Before then I hadn't really done anything special on my birthday, and I wasn't looking forward so much to it because I thought I wouldn't be spending much time with my friends because it was on a weekend and I couldn't have a birthday. Well, that day I had a netball game - we lost, but still all my friends celebrated my birthday with me which made me feel very warm :D. Secondly, on that night my friend had her birthday party, her birthday being 2 days before and I was really happy to go to her party because it gave me something interesting to do on my birthday! I thought in that light no one would really realise it was my birthday that day, and I didn't want to take the limelight off her either because it was her party. No one forgot though, in fact I got alot of happy birthday's and surprisingly gifts :D!!!! My friend, although it was her party took time to acknowledge 'all three birthday girls' - hers, my other friends [who's birthday was the previous day] and mine. It all made me really appreciate my friendships even more.

12. What excites you the most in life? Where do you get the most joy and fulfillment? Parties with close friends and family, it's a chance to have fun but with people you trust. Although i get alot of joy and fulfillment from performing, I love spending time with friends and family, it makes you feel so warm and not so alone.

13. If you were in Harry's position during the "Snape's Worst Memory" incident, how would you view Peter, James, Sirius, Lily, Remus, and Snape differently? Why? I would have viewed Snape definitely as a victim who was trying to defend himself in case of an attack, that experiences like that in his life made him the way he is today. I mean, James and Sirius were merely up themselves I would think and had enormous egos, wanting to get any slight amount of attention in any way, I thought they were both noble and always good people throughout their entire life. My view on Peter Pettigrew wouldn't change, he'd still be a little follower without any individuality and got power from whoever they followed. My view on Lily and Remus wouldn't change either, their characters remained the same as the way I percieved them before this chapter in the book.

14. Imagine you were an eleven-year-old Muggleborn witch/wizard who did not know about magic and had just received your Hogwarts letter. How would you react to leaving home and going to a magic school? I would be excited and blown away. All these things from my imagination would have sprung to life, all these possibilities would open from just recieving a letter, allowing me to go away and learn magic. However, I'd be scared to leave an environment I was familiar in to go away to something completely new, that I had never realised existed before recieving that letter, and not know what lay ahead in my future.

15. If you had access to a time turner and there were no regulations regarding its usage, what would you use it for and why? I'd go back to moments where I missed out on BIG opportunities, moments I look back on an even now and think "I wish i...". I would just go back in time and say, go to an audition or something along those lines, nothing pure evil really, no matter how tempting it would be to go and prank someone.

16. In the Philosopher’s Stone (AKA Sorcerer’s Stone) Neville had a choice: he could let his friends go out at night when they weren’t supposed to and potentially they could lose points for his house, or he could confront them and stop them from breaking the rules. What would you have done in his situation? I would have tried preventing them, not only were they jeopardising their chances to win the house cup, they were also putting themselves at risk to get in trouble, or worse. I would have tried talking them out of the situation, and not result to anything physical. Talking it through is the best way to go with me.

17. Who (dead, alive, or fictional) do you most admire? This can be someone from real life or from Harry Potter. My mum, no questions. She works full time with her job, and juggling my sister and I. She's been through so much in her life but still remains tough and always willing to help other people. She's really strong inside and out, and always tries to look on the brighter side of things, and doesn't dwell on the past, instead she tries to find ways to improve the future. She's not selfish and always looks out for others. Her honesty is also something I value about her, you can always trust her opinion to not be false.

18. What is your favorite book outside of Harry Potter? What is it about this book that endears it to you? I don't know if I'd classify it as a 'book', but I love the shakespearean text Macbeth. I love it so much because it revolves around the supernatural, as well as people's emotions and the manipulative nature of a 'femme fatale' (lady macbeth). The combination of ideas and issues in the text just makes it all so interesting, as well as the shakespearean language :D

19. You're sitting the final examination for a class that has given you a lot of trouble. Your grade is borderline, you really need to do well on this final to get an A. You can see the paper of your friend who sits next to you and who happens to excel in this subject. You've gotten to a question that you're stuck on. Do you glance at your friend's paper to figure out the answer or not? Why? No...way... I wouldn't feel good even if I got a great score after that, cheating isn't a fun thing to do. I'd feel alot better if I got great marks from my own efforts.

20. In Goblet of Fire, Harry was chosen for the Tri-Wizard Tournament even with the age-line. Ron was unable to enter because of the age restriction even though he really wanted to be a part of the Tournament. Was Ron right to be jealous/angry at Harry? Were Harry's reactions appropriate? Why? You can't blame Ron for being jealous firstly, it's a natural, and evil part of being human that's pretty much unavoidable. He'd been in Harry's shadow for so long, it was only natural that he became incredibly jealous at that moment. However, he allowed himself to be 'consumed' by jealousy, making him angry and spiteful towards Harry. I don't think he should have been angry at Harry and not believed him, friendships are based on trust and Ron threw that away as he was blinded by his jealousy. I understand Harry's reaction, he was right to be angry when his best friend of so many years allowed them to be divided by that kind of situation, and the fact that they also didn't believe him would be an annoying situation.

21. Which class would you look forward to the most at Hogwarts? Which classes do you/did you excel in most at school? I would enjoy charms and transfiguration the most. The thought of being able to change things, and yourself [like transfiguring yourself into, say...a rabbit? Or putting a cheering charm on yourself...hehe...] would be so amazing and self satisfying - well, that is if your spells were successful.
Well, I just got my report from school back today [amazing coincidence], but with or without the report, I can say I do very well in English, Drama and Science at school. I'm interested in all three subjects, which leads to me putting extra effort and doing well in them.

22. What would be the first place you visit during a Hogsmeade weekend? Why? The Three Broomsticks. To go in there would be great, the place has such a great, warm and friendly atmosphere. I'd be able to sit, chat with friends and other people I don't know too well in such a cool atmosphere.

23. In the wizarding world, all 5th year students are required to pick a career to focus on going into their 6th and 7th years at Hogwarts. What career path would you choose? Why? A Healer. In real life I want to be a doctor, and in the HP world it would be absolutely awesome, because they not only treat diseases, but many magical 'problems'. It'd be really interesting to work with so many different patients, and also be able to help them get better.

24. In the Wizarding world, some pure-blood wizards consider Muggle-borns "filthy" and "horrible." In our world, people are categorized by their wealth, racial background, and appearance. What are your opinions on Muggle-borns? What are the qualities that you value in others? There is nothing wrong with muggle borns. They are normal people who live in their own culture and society, like any other cultures from overseas. Discrimination is a horrible and annoying thing. I've been discriminated many times before [I'm of chinese heritage and I live in Australia], so I find there is NO reason to discriminate or judge someone that you barely know, by their appearance or the society they are from. I value kindness, trust, self-certainty and a GREAT sense of humour in people. I hate people who are too serious and don't know when to just be stupid and have fun. Self-certainty is a major self-confidence kind of thing, I don't like people who just try and be a part of the 'in crowd' for a trend, or to be cool. I like people who are themselves, no matter how weird, stupid and wacky that may be.

25. You have stumbled across five magical wells. One is the Well of Common Sense and Logic, the second is the Well of Creativity, the third is the Well of Optimism, the fourth is the Well of Physical Strength, and the fifth is the Well of Beauty. You can only drink from one well, but once you do you will be endowed with that ability for the rest of your life. Which well do you think you would definitely not need, and which do you think you would want to drink from? The well of common sense and logic would be the one I'd drink from. I think those are the most important thing that can get you through life so that you can make the right choices. I definitely won't need the well of creativity, I already have an insane imagination.

26. In Half-Blood Prince, we witnessed Harry force-feeding Dumbledore the potion that weakened him, even though it pained Harry to do so, because he promised Dumbledore he would do whatever he wished. If you were in Harry's position, would you have stopped feeding Dumbledore the potion, or would you have continued? Do you think it was right for Harry to do as Dumbledore wished? Explain. I think it was right for Harry to do that, he followed Dumbledore's orders as he promised to do so before, and perservered with it, not stopping mid-way. If I was in harry's position, I would have continued, though it would have been incredibly difficult and heart breaking for me to do so, to watch such a powerful wizard I respected in a state of absolute weakness and vulnerability. I would have continued because I keep promises, I hate to feel as though i've 'betrayed' someone of their trust and faith in me.I also would have continued because I trust Dumbledore's judgement and plans, he's a very intelligent and wise wizard.

27. Anything else you want to tell us before we sort you? Also, please tell us where you heard about this community. (Members who refer new applicants receive points, so please try to be as specific as possible.) I think I've covered alot about me...but if I could sum myself up in a few words [though that's possibly the hardest thing ever to do] I'd say: creative, loyal, fun, competetive, friendly. I was introduced here by b_ioluminescent, simply because she mentioned this in her journal and I thought the community seemed fun and cool :D! Oh...and I like to sing in the shower...which is true :D

Hope I didn't yab on too much in my application. Hope it isn't too hard to sort me!!
