New Music! [29 Dec 2005|01:15pm]

swankyness3390
[ mood | enthralled ]

So I went shopping with my Best Buy gift card from Christmas yesterday.

I got a couple new CD's and I thought I'd share.

I got:
Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production of Eggs
Modest Mouse, The Moon & Antarctica
311, Don't Tread on Me
Radiohead, Ok Computer
and Squirrel Nut Zippers, Hot

And so far I absolutely love all of them.

P.S. Has anyone ever listened to Andrew Bird? If not I highly suggest him to everyone. He's fabulous. I discovered him quite a while ago, and my favorite song most definitely has to be A Nervous Tick Motion of the Head to the Left.

Oh, and I recently got Modest Mouse, The Good News For People Who Love Bad News CD too. One of my friends bought it for me for Christmas.

Did anyone else get anything good for Christmas? Or do any of you like these bands? Or suggest other bands for me? I still have a giftcard to SamGoody to use.

Does anyone listen to Natasha Bedingfield?
I just found my CD (after thinking I had lost it for 3 months) and I forgot how much I absolutely love her music. It's really different and catchy.

You should look into listening to some of her stuff.

I'm still promoting us about, but people don't seem to want to join.

I just joined a community where there are like 5 people joining every day, so I think I'm going to promote there and try to convince people to join us.

I think we could really make this a happening community if we got going with stuff.

What Happened to Manners? [03 Oct 2005|12:37am]

Well, it seems I am now maintainer of samanthafans. Did the former maintainer check with me first? No. Is this proper lj etiquette? I leave that to you. Well, if you like this actress, or U2 for that matter, check it out and help me out by joining and posting. Help me bring this place alive!

And don't forget the community I began: sisterofthewood! This is a community to showcase the arts, whatever art. Drawings, paintings, icons, wallpapers, poems, stories (provided they are free of cursing and homosexual references), photos, random thoughts on any art form, essays, you can even post about trips and travelling, and anything involving the environment, really anything associated with the listed interests. The only rules are no cursing, or porn. Not in my communities. Personal preference.

Well, I guess that's my advertisement for the month! LOL

Join The Debate [15 Sep 2005|01:49am]

I know there are both U2 and Coldplay fans on my flist. Here's your chance to battle who's best or do they copycat? I advise reading all comments before adding your two cents. You might learn something about the issues that you didn't know that could change your perspective (such as a certain Chris Martin interview). Ok, so it's obvious who's side I'm on. Because what I just said, and I've commented on it in this blog before, but let's get it all aired, in the open (and you are ultimately entitled to your opinion, so what's to lose?).

So holy crap. Ok Go, anyone?! [09 Sep 2005|08:25pm]

swankyness3390
[ mood | crazy ]

Has anyone listened to Ok Go ever?
They are most likely my absolute favorite band. At least right now and for the past two years or so.

But HEY!
They came out with a new freakin CD!
After like what... 4 years since their last CD came out.
Gosh... makin us wait that long isn't right. AT ALL.

But um. If you like them, I highly suggest you go pick up their new CD.
My boyfriend got it for me two days before it came out (I was on vacation and didn't find out he had gotten it for me until I was on my way home and got reception on my cell phone again.)

That's beside the point.
The point is I am possibly in love with Ok Go's CD, Oh No.
And also that you should deffinately get it/download it/something because I garuntee it will make you a happy camper.

THE END.

Coldplay Fans Beware [08 Sep 2005|08:53pm]

sabneraznik
[ mood | contemplative ]

I'm listening to this song... not a great Coldplay fan, have to be in the mood, think they copycat too much for their own good, but obviously copycatting U2 wins awards... anyway: I was thinking, this beat they so obviously prefer (do they really use any other?) it has a nice sound, a driven sound, a get-up-off-your-rump-and-irish-dance sound. But it's too slow. If they would speed it up just a fraction, just a little bit, it would really lift the songs off the ground. They might achieve flight, they might be good...

So what exactly is this community for? I mean, what am I supposed to post? Just air opinions?

Just curious, cuz I want to share in this place, but not quite sure where to start.
