The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFE campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student

Ladyfest Cardiff

We're looking for people to do workshops at Ladyfest - anything really but i guess probably along the lines of feminism / DIY culture / lady-related topics etc...

If anyone is interested, leave a comment, or e-mail ladyfestcardiff@riseup.net

We probably won't be able to pay you as it's all very low-budget but we *might* be able to pay petrol costs if you let us know how much you require etc. It's all for a good cause anyway! And we'll prob be able to put you up for the weekend if you so wish...

Ladyfest is happening in Cardiff from June 30th - July 2nd.

We've decided to organise a Ladyfest in Cardiff next July.

For those of you who don't know, Ladyfest is an international phenomena that started in Olympia in 2000 to showcase women in the arts. There'll be bands, performers, artists, workshops, films, activism, music and lots of other stuff. It will be entirely organised by volunteers, anti-capitalist and very DIY!

We're looking for more people to get involved, whether as organisers or performers or just to come along. We don't have a website yet but we've set up a Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ladyfest_cardiff
- go join!

More info about the concept of Ladyfest is available at www.ladyfest.org

At the moment we're having meetings about once a week.

Any new faces and ideas are most welcome!
