so i had to write an english sonnet for my freshman composition 2 class and we had to have the word "hay" in it (so no one would copy and paste off the internet) and i wrote one about lithuania of course and my instructor liked it so much, she told me to submit it to out schools literary magazine.
The Hill of Crosses, the castles still stand
Abundant forests all covered in snow
I can't get enough of this gorgeous land
The cloudy gray skies hold a hopeful glow
The barrels of hay, immobile with pride
Elongate across to the Baltic Sea
The red represents all those who had died
To construct this country peaceful and free
Let's drink lots of vodka and go catch fish
Party 'til midnight with all of our friends
If we see a stork, I will make a wish
That this country and culture never ends
It's close to my heart and all I can say
Oh Lithuania, as myliu tave!
