I'm bisexual and no preference on gender, and I have a problem with making gay marriages illegal.
The United States of America stands for (as we all know) life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, even if that happiness comes from marrying someone from the same sex. Homosexuals are human beings. Even though some of you might not agree with what they do behind closed doors, but hey, it's not hurting you. I know you all are familiar with the Pledge of Allegiance, we all say it at least one time a day 5 days a week from the announcements at school, but remember that last line? "With Liberty and Justice for all"? This discrimination against gays and lesbians is a great injustice to our rights and hearts.
I know some of you are wanting to throw the bible at me, saying god doesnt condone that kind of activity, but hey, god made every single one of us right? Then it's not a flaw, from us, it's a flaw from god, or maybe not even a flaw at all. Maybe god made gay people to help control our already overly populated world. Who knows, but your backing of god doesnt hold a candle to our situation.
There is also supposed to be a separation between church and state, and i think it is being an injustice to all Americans that are not Christians. If Allah says it's okay for a man to have more than one wife, and the Christian God says it's okay for married couples to have a divorce and ruin the "holy matrimony" then i guess the ceremony isn't very holy at all. George W. Bush is shoving his religion down my, my fellow gay citizens, Catholics, Buddhist's, and Athiests as well, throats.
Dogs are allowed to get married, thus making a complete mockery of the "holy marriage" everyone is so bent on protecting from the gay community. You can't control who you love. You are in love with a person. Not a penis, or a vagina, but with their personality and virtues. Banning gay marriages is discrimination no matter how you look at it.
I am not asking for anyone to side with me, but i am asking for a protest in honor of my resistance to being labeled as a second class citizen. I am not going to recite the pledge of allegiance at school, or anywhere it is being conducted. So please join me, if you will, and tell your friends.
