hi. I am 17 from Los Angeles, California. I saw 3 open this year in like November I think for Coheed and Cambria and Underoath in Hollywood at the Palladium. Needless to say, they should have headlined the whole thing. They outplayed everyone, even though I still love Coheed and Cambria and they did great too. They are starting to carry 3 cds at Tower Records and one Wherehouse out here. Not much though, it is a rare siting but I am glad I found them. I bought Wake Pig and Summercamp Nightmare. These guys are my favorite band now and Joey Eppard is my favorite man. They store so much talent.

A plea for help
Sorry to spam-ish and such, but...
I'm a 16 year old boy from Portland, Oregon who is REALLY REALLY REALLY looking for people who want to start a Progressive/Emo/Concept-like band. I, personally, am a guitarist of more than two years experience, and I do a lot of all around song writing. I write lyrics and music, and I write them a lot. And this is something I want to do badly. Influences are along the lines of Coheed And Cambria, Brazil, The 3, From First To Last, Early November, Underoath, and nearly every other Post-Hardcore/Emo-esque band out there.
So, if anybody knows anybody in the metro Portland, Oregon area that might have any interest in playing, PLEASE contact me with some info at MonkeyAbuser@aol.com .

There's been alot of talk of 2 Joey Eppard solo albums coming out instead of one. Here's what Joey said via message board.
Here's whats up with the next 2 solo records. First, I'm going to put out the Jersville record which should be finished in the next month. This record will feature some very different versions of songs previously released on bttf, and also several new ones. Jerry Marotta is one of the greatest drummers on the planet, nobody plays like him. His massive list of credits include artists like Peter Gabriel, Trey Antassio, Elvis Costello and Ani Difranco to name a few. Jerry was the main producer of this record along with a little help from Rex Fowler of Aztec2Step. Also featured on this record will be Mike Visceglia (Suzanne Vega) on bass,
and Ben Butler (Dar Williams) on elctric guitar. Oh yeah and that Billy Riker guy is on a couple tracks too. Most of the project was completed almost 2 years ago, so I decided we need to get it out before my next release of all new material, which is probably about 6 months away. The song "I Can't" will be on the 2nd of the 2 releases.
Keep it real..."
So on top of a new Ani Difranco (just released) Mars Volta, Nine Inch Nails, and Porcupine Tree albums, I have two Eppard albums to top the anticipation for all the others put together. Current Mood: bouncy

In case you don't know, theres a new Joey Eppard song on www.purevolume.com/3 called "I Can't". Not sure when a new albums coming out so if anyone knows, inform us. I know for the songs from his next album he played alot of the instruments himself, maybe even drums.
And if anyone hasn't seen it yet.
blueballoon from the board made a GREAT collection of unreleased songs, and theres another 7 songs from before PBN that he's hosting that aren't on the site so if you want those IM me or look on the family 3 board.

the boston show was great, nothing too different about the setlist though. Coheed didn't impress me, either because I've seen them 13 times or because they get drunk and lazy now that they're stars, the light and the glass was the only reason i was glad I stayed past the first few songs.
Wake Pig is great, anyone who hasn't gotten it yet, get it.
Joey Eppard: I don't know how serious he is about it, but he said he wants to put some new solo songs on purevolume sometime soon, my guess is right after the tour. One of them, he told me the name but I forgot, it's something like "the earth and the sky". It was one of the 2 new songs he was playing with the all-star band at the bitter end. There IS new material but we may not hear most of it for a while. So enjoy "wake pig" for now :-D Current Mood: good

Can't get a grip of this planet you've found
As anyone who checks thefamily3.com knows, 3 has a new album coming out.
At first Joey was saying it was an EP but he hasn't said EP in a while so I have no idea if its an EP or a full album, but either way it's nearing us and it's called Wake Pig. 2 or 3 of the songs they've been playing live will be on it, the show in Kingston, they actually played 4 or 5 songs off it. It should be out by the time they go tour with Coheed and Cambria. For more info read the new news updates and journal at www.thefamily3.com
I'll be at the show in Boston on October 15, really upset that I can't get close to the stage without being crushed anymore, but still enjoying the new hard sound and 5 amazing musicians rocking out. Current Mood: good

I am a time bomb
Threes set at the NJ show I put on and the show last night in Poughkeepsie was the same basically:
Alien Angel (new)
(another new song, instrumental)
(another new song either called "Trust" or "Wake up")
drum thing while joey restrings
Last night they played really well but something fucked up with the sound during Amazedisgrace. Joey broke something like 9 strings during the set, at the last minute of the set he was rockin out and broke 3 strings so he just pulled the last 3 out and started banging his guitar like a bongo. The guys seemed kinda bummed which sucked but they shouldn't have been cuz overall it was great as expected. Current Mood: good
