Real Punk Vs. Fake Punk

I haven't posted in a LONG time... So... Here it goes...

Okay so I was getting ready to go to work today, and had the radio on, like always. I like Kevin and Bean in the morning :)
Anyhow... I *think* the new Green Day song came on. So of course, I'm thinking punk (I think in genres for some reason). And then I start to think, "well, a lot of people would dissagree with me about Green Day being punk." So my mind went back through the last 4 or 5 decades. The first punk bands, Ramones, Clash, New York Dolls, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedies, Iggy Pop (I know I missed some, don't hurt me...).
I realised, that that only punk music that "real punks" consider to be "real punk" is the stuff that came out of late sixties, seventies, and early eighties.
Well, obviously, music evolves over time... So why is "punk" music now, not considered "real punk"?
...And by George, I think I've got it... O_O

I erm, wandered a bit towards the end, it may not make sence... Oh, and my time line might be off by a bit, I was doing it from my own knowledge...
Oh, and if I offended anyone, too bad. Suck it up.
