Everybody knows who the most famous and most wanted are in Hollywood. The question is—who are the least wanted? One possibility is the unwanted and abandoned animals created in part by the recent mortgage crisis. This crisis has left so many animals homeless that the term “foreclosure pet phenomenon” was created by the animal welfare community to describe the dire situation.
Hollywood Least Wanted 3D is a special one-night charity art exhibition by Rachel Schmeidler to benefit the City of Los Angeles' Animal Services Department. Staged at the Rivera & Rivera art gallery in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday November 21, 2009, the event is catered to raise funds via raffle tickets as well as to serve as an animal adoption fair. One hundred percent of raffle ticket sales and fifty percent of the proceeds from the sale of artwork will go towards the Animal Welfare Trust Fund.
Zachary Quinto, star of Heroes & Star Trek, is the confirmed honorary guest. In support of the cause, Mr. Quinto will bring his dog Noah. Additional celebrity involvement will be significant; all celebrity attendees will be encouraged to bring their dogs for a red carpet photo opportunity.
Hollywood Least Wanted 3D will highlight the cause of abandoned animals by using one of Hollywood’s hottest artistic trends—3D. The exhibit will feature anaglyphic 3D photographs of dogs and cats “behind bars” in effort to raise public awareness and support for the animals.
In stark contrast to these animal photographs, Schmeidler will also exhibit celebrity mugshots of her Hollywood Most Wanted series, presented for the first time in 3D. Hollywood Most Wanted takes images of celebrities at their most unglamorous moment—mugshots from their arrests for DUI, drug possession, obscenity, and assault—and reinterprets them in a way that asks provocative questions about celebrity, justice, and contemporary American society. Schmeidler’s artwork has received wide media coverage from both national and international outlets like FOX, MTV, CNN, The Gawker, The L.A. Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Times (UK). For this event, Schmeidler reworked her Hollywood Most Wanted series by applying anaglyphic techniques to traditional artwork processes in an effort to adapt with Hollywood’s hottest trend – 3D.

Zachary Quinto could be taking a new ride.
The “Star Trek” topliner is loosely attached to his first post-”Trek” feature, the romantic dramedy “Whirligig.”
Quinto would play the lead role in the Canadian indie, which is aiming to shoot early next year.
The actor has been very selective about his next role, and with no deal in place and a number of contingencies that need to be met, it remains possible he’ll opt for another project as his first post-”Trek” feature.
The “Whirligig” project centers on a man who, in a misguided attempt to woo an older woman, befriends the woman’s adopted son.
Chaz Thorne is directing the pic, based on a screenplay by Michael Amo, creator of the Canadian supernatural series “The Listener,” which aired on NBC in the summer. Thorne, Amo and David MacLeod are producing.
UTA-repped Quinto was best known for his long-running role as Sylar on NBC adventure series “Heroes,” as well as a recurring role on “24″ before also breaking out as the new Spock in the summer hit “Trek.” He’s signed on to reprise his role as the deadpan Vulcan in a sequel.
Par’s “Trek” has provided a bump for a number of actors, particularly Chris Pine, who has been in negotiations to star in a new Jack Ryan pic for the studio, among other projects.

“We’re bringing our own life to [the characters] and we’re entering into these characters at a very specific point in their journey,” the 32-year-old actor says. “So my Spock and [Leonard Nimroy]’s Spock are very different people.
Director J.J. Abrams adds, “On the other hand, the spirit of Leonard’s performance as Spock is so clearly present in what Zachary’s doing. They’re both very smart guys approaching the same character.”
Over the weekend, Zachary dressed up as a sexy skeleton for Halloween.
