Nearly a decade after the end of official hostilities investigative journalist Max Brooks published his novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. It was his hope to offer a more personal look of the war that had been left out of the official United Nations Postwar Commision Report.
Countering the cold, statistical information presented by the UNPCR, the book was heralded with rave reviews not only in the United States where it was originally published but around the world. The raw interviews presented offer the human side of a war that was often far too in-human. The interviews represent a wide spectrum of survivors and provide a sample of the extraordinary survival stories common in the postwar era.
However, with Zack still a threat in numerous parts of the world, we cannot afford to forget the costs and struggles that came with this war. There are millions of zombies still stalking along the bottom of the ocean and Iceland still remains the worst infected white zone on Earth. There are still a great number of threats to the human race and we cannot afford to let another war break out.
worldwarz was created as an extension of the grand endeavours of Mr. Brooks. We would like to collect as many personal accounts, interviews, audio clips, photographs, illustrations, and video clips as possible to document the events of the war.
We welcome any and all to share their stories.
With your contributions, the war may never be forgotten. |

How did I not know about World War Z?
Well, I guess that's the question the book answers, really. |

Chances are, this will never get finished and might be terrible even if it does, but I at least like the idea. Good place to train recruits. |

This is becoming more common. I don't know what I'd do if I saw that. Freak out?
Although, I would love to organize something like that at, say, Mizzou. |

New Zomzie Movie. It also appears, judging from the trailer, that this breed of zombism... zombieism... zombyism... undeath can be cured by taking off articles of clothing and getting all wet. Apparently, zombies have turned on the sex appeal. |

The fact of the matter is that most of us don't have GPS units, which apparently makes coordination a little more difficult than I anticipated. Here's how it is: Malton is a 100x100 grid, where north is up and west is left. That makes the far upper-left (northwest) corner 0-0. As you may remember from middle school, that's X then Y--horizontal position, then vertical position. One space east of 0-0 is 1-0. One space south of 0-0 is 0-1.
To figure out where you are, click View in your browser menu and then Source (in IE) or Page Source (in Firefox). If you're using Opera, shit, you should already know how to do this. Alternatively, in Firefox, you can hit CTRL-U.
As soon as you see the text window pop up, look for a tag something like <input type="hidden" name="v" value="62-82">. There should be eight near the top of the window--a (vertical) set of three, then two, then three. Note how the numbers go in sequence? That's the grid positions of each location you can see right now. The one you don't see is your location. Got that?
( If you don't... )
It's not as complicated as it looks. Just count the three numbers each way and get the middle value of each. We shouldn't have to use this often, but if we're all going to meet I say we do it at 63-83. There's a NecroTech building five blocks south, and we're going to loot the hell out of it. |

There exists a new and excellent web-based training simulator of which we should all take advantage. We know from the words of the Prophet Brooks that there is safety in numbers, and a Zomziepie posse could do a great deal to allay fears and confront the chaos that is rapidly emerging in-game.
I say we all create characters--preferably with distinct names, more like "Brendan Adkins" than "xXxUnde4dKILLAHxXx"--and start out in the East Grayside suburb, meeting on Leonard Street (square 63-83). We'll need a decent variety of specialties to remain a flexible squad; I've started as a Lab Assistant.
What, who and where are you? |
