Excerpt:

"Angel, which stars stuntwoman Zoe Bell as an assassin (see our review and our interview with Bell), was produced by Sony’s Crackle.com and debuted in March. The 10-part series was a hit online and by last count had generated 4.8 million plays — a strong showing for a drama.

Spike will air all 10 episodes as a 90-minute movie on July 25, three days before it will be released on DVD."

Bitchslap is currently doing it's rounds at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, infact 'Bitch Slap will premiere at the film market in Cannes on 14-16 May 2009.' (I'm assuming that once they get a buyer, the release date for the film will be given press.)

"Ford will also be tempting buyers with Bitch Slap, a grindhouse action homage from Rick Jacobson featuring the charms of Zoe Bell, Erin Cummings, Julia Voth and Lucy Lawless as well as Ron Melendez and William Gregory Lee.

Ford and his team are selling international rights and anticipate strong ongoing sales heading into a sold-out market screening next week."

Oh btw, an interesting read over at the Stunt Players Directory Forum about the Taurus Stunt Awards - http://www.stuntplayers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5146

IMHO it's moreso about internal and external customer service improvement rather than not being able to host shows. So you don't have enough $ to put on shows, that's understandable. But, when you can't even get straight information out to registered voters? Guuh.

Game -> Citizen Game -> Gamer ?

What appears to be the official site is calling what was once "Citizen Game", "Gamer". No word from creators on their Myspace page other than a picture of the word "Citizen" being scratched out and a "?" scrawled under it. I guess as long as the word GAME is in there, it's all good.

The official site is up:

Gamer is set for release on September 4th, 2009.

The film is going to be shot digitally on the Red camera and then put through the same rotoscope animation technique pioneered on Waking Life and subsequently employed for A Scanner Darkly and others. A rotoscoped western? If they push this right out to the extremes it could be pretty spectacular.

Isolated. Betrayed.
One Way Out.
Kill ‘em All.

In the untamed Wild West, five veteran bounty hunters are engaged to transport four killer outlaws. Their mission: keep them alive by any means necessary.

Sanderson leads a motley band of bounty hunters in the New Mexico badlands circa 1884. This is a time when society is still in its infancy and the strength of the individual reigns. Here the fine line of morality blurs - it is not about right or wrong but survival. These themes surface when Sanderson and his group are hired to escort four killer outlaws across the mountains. They come under assault and are forced to encamp in a high plains township. There they must band together with their payload and fight side by side against a common enemy. Differences are put aside, alliances formed but for how long…

Chris Wilson from CWAnimation just released a demo video for "Chronicles of Nerm". The film is slated to be released as a 10-minute short. Wilson has been working independently on "Chronicles of Nerm", the follow up to "The Adventures of Nerm and BG" The demo contains no voiceovers(for those who tuned in to hear ZB), just an orchestral narrative. Yes, consider it a spoiler if you will. We will post more about "Chronicles of Nerm" as information becomes available.

Very disappointing for those outside the USA, but all-in-all, Angel of Death is getting rave reviews across the internet. Individuals who were able to catch the first couple of episodes want more- the following is an excerpt exclusive interview from Newsarama.com:

Newsarama: So Ed - Angel of Death launched last week, and we're halfway through the 10-part series. What's the word? What have you been hearing on how it's being received?

Ed Brubaker: So far the response has been pretty overwhelmingly positive, from the reviews and the press we've been getting, to the fan response online and in person. It was really something to step off the plane in L.A. Monday with Zoe and my wife Melanie, and to see us on the front page of the Calendar section, with this huge article about me and her and Angel of Death. Then that night we went to a screening of all the episodes on the Sony lot, and it got a huge response from everyone, even all the Sony higher-ups were really impressed with what we did.

Submissions for the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Awards deadline is this Friday, Jan 9. Will Ms. Zoë Bell be nominated for anything this year?

ETA:

TAURUS WORLD STUNT AWARDS SHOW POSTPONED TO 2010!

Dear Colleagues,

The Taurus World Stunt Awards television show will be postponed to 2010. With the current worldwide economic situation which also affects the film industry and the stunt community, it is not prudent to produce a show that requires so many resources to maintain the standard and quality of production we have delivered. so far.

The Taurus World Stunt Awards Foundation will continue to honor stunt professionals and now even increase the direct support of those who have been injured in the course of their work. The winners of the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Awards will be announced at a party held for them in May 2009.

Since they haven't updated their website, I'm wondering if they'll be announcing the winners?
