Thus far I've no idea if Ms. Bell has been nominated for anything. I believe they are doing another private party again this year. I *wish* they would at the very least do a public release of the list of 2009 nominees.

Anyhow, here's the breakdown so far:

Screening of nominees for the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Awards - 03-24-2009
The deadline to vote for the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Awards - 03-27-2009

I'm guessing the awards could be happening any time soon?

BTW, TWSA has this in their 'legal details' section:

"The Taurus World Stunt Awards makes no guarantee that the awards show will happen, that it will be broadcast, or that any particular performer, performance submission or clip will be included in the show or broadcast thereof."

So I'm guessing televised, public viewing will be a rare thing for the awards. It's too bad some channel like Spike or MTV can't sponsor the shows.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ON THE NOMINEES OR IF ZB HAS BEEN NOMINATED THIS YEAR, PLEASE LET US KNOW!

Thanks

Got this off Sony Entertainment's website:

"Zoë is next set to star in the upcoming “Untitled Zoë Bell Project” with Senator Entertainment. Her role, as a Club Med employee by day and treasure hunter by night, now marks the third starring role that was written specifically for her."

It was part of her biography for AoD. Any information provided would be helpful! I'm pretty sure it's not related to the film about her being a soldier?

Thanks!

Mr. Ramsey,

I am writing because I wanted to ask if Zoe Bell did stunts for your film, Blood And Bone? I saw the picture you put in your photo album of Zoe and yourself.
I think she's great!

I just recieved a response to an e-mail I shot off to Michael Zampelli, the photographer of the pics previously posted. I basically inquired if he knew whether or not Zoe was a returning skater or if she was new. I also asked if he knew why she was there and if he had spoken with her. This was what I got back:

"This was her first time there as far as I know. She had a little instruction on the flat concrete and then skated around the infield before joining the rest of the Derby Dolls on the banked track. I'm not positive but I have the feeling this might be related to the Drew Barrymore appearances at the recent games to scout for her first directorial debut, "Whip it", which is a movie about ...you guessed it, roller derby. I'm sure they will have some special scenes that need a top notch stunt double. ;)"

"I didn't talk to her. I wasn't even familiar with who she was but someone there was very excited that she was there so I knew something was up."

You can check out Michael Zampelli's flickr for more photos from the practice:[HERE]

Thanks Mr. Zampelli!

So, there's a possibility that Zoe may be prepping for a role or will be a stunt double in the film "Whip It". We'll keep on top of it.

Filming for "Whip It" begins Summer 2008 in Texas.

i've been looking and haven't found anything.

aka "Zoë Bell"
2. Zoe Bell (II) (Actress, Billy Elliot (2000))
3. Zoe Bell (III) (Actress, Coffee Sex You (2007))

And is the entry listed above, our Ms. Bell?

These appear to be photos from filming being done recently in Albuquerque/NM- part of the "Game" filming? There's a doomsday feel to the props used and there are pictures of containers as well(re: container city).

I was flipping through the October 19th issue of Entertainment Weekly when I flipped onto an article on the Eppers, "Hollywood's reigning dynasty of stuntpeople." There's a very amusing photo set up of Epper boys and Eurlyne brawling in the living room; Eurlyne  has just smashed a chair aimed at one of the boys while Jeannie reads the newspaper from a comfy chair. If anyone wants I'll scan in the pages later.

Subject: Finally!

Hey you guys,

So I dont know how to convince you of this (um, my cats name was Emily) but I'm Zoë, Zoë Bell.
I finally hooked myself up with myspace and so can actually communicate with you.
You guys have been so cool and I know I have met a bunch of you at Xena con's etc.
Life has been pretty hectic of late and I apologise for my lack of reachablity (made that word up!).

Dont know if you guys know this but I have landed a small cameo role on the show Lost. I leave tomorrow to shoot for a week in Hawaii.

This world I live and work in is crazy and fickle and honestly outside of close friends and family you guys are one thing that has been consistant and solid. For that I thank you.
I am reaching out to you guys cause I thought if you guys are interested maybe you could spread the word and try generate some heat, a flame as it were, under the arse's of the bigs wigs of the TV world. I am not sure when the episode/s are showing but will stay in touch maybe together we can convince these guys that I am worth resurrecting!!

I realise this is out of the blue. Not sure how else to do it really.
You guys are doing an incredible job. I would love to stay in touch. Be warned though that I am often really busy and also innately useless so I cant promise I will be consistant and/or regular, but I can and will definitely do my best.
Thanks again and HI!!!

Zoë

The Response:

We really don't know how else you could confirm your identity other than providing us with information and perhaps photos of your trip to Hawaii? Trying not to be rude, just cautious.

In the event that this is really Zoë- this is probably one of the best moments in our community. We have been trying to contact you forever! We've had the success of reaching your father (and mother) as well as several of your past collegues. Amanda Micheli has been amazing in responding to our inquiries about you as well as several of your stunting friends.

We will do whatever we can do to publicize and promote anything done by Zoë. She has more of a following than she thinks. So many people love and adore her!

Anyhow, we hope to hear from you soon!

EDIT: CONFIRMED! IT IS ZOE BELL!

After perusing Stuntman, Peter Hassell's awesome Double Dare page, I found myself stuck on one particular paragraph on his review.

At a talk after the Wellington Film Festival screening, Amanda Micheli said she'd shot over 200 hours of footage! I would love to see a Double Dare 2 that included some of that unused footage, and continued to follow the life stories of Zoe and Jeannie and their families with more new material.

If there is a time to bring out additional footage or a follow up to the film, it should be now, IMO.

Any thoughts?

This may sound like a demographics poll, and I suppose it is. Within the past few days LBGT sites have picked up the news about Zoë's new film project. The three I've seen are at:

My So Called Gay Life in an article titled "Lesbian TV Lowdown"
bgay.com
AfterEllen.com

Does Zoë have a lesbian following? Is this a natural consequences of working on Xena, a show which admittedly had a giant lesbian following? Is it part of a larger strong-woman-solidarity thing? By which I mean that with Zoë becoming more of an icon of a strong female, are the lesbians among her female fans just growing by statistical percentages.

Thoughts?

"Hello Mr. Emery,

I am writing you to ask about any updates in regard to Tyger Tyger. I'm also wondering if Zoë Bell is still intended as the lead for Tyger Tyger or if she will only be involved in stuntwork. Over the past year and a half I've been in contact with Ken Penders about the project and he has been very generous in providing us with information."

[INSERT LETTER TO & FROM KEN PENDERS]

Clayton Emery's Response:

Jun 16, 2007 12:12 AM

"Ken has it right.

Our original plan was to make a low-budget movie where the stunt people also acted. Zoe was interested and kindly let us float her name for the project. Zoe, luckily, found other projects, including GRINDHOUSE, but stayed in touch and was still interested in hearing about the film's progress. She's been very sweet and helpful all along.

Another producer in the project, Rod Hilton Belle, found some investors who like TYGER TYGER, but they want to make it a bigger budget movie with A-list stars and stunt doubles. So they will only consider Zoe for the stunts. They've recruited a casting director, Sally Jackson, and she's compiling a list of possible female stars. Ken and I are waiting to see how far this push goes. No one's talked to Zoe, as far as I know.

Meanwhile, I bounce the idea of TYGER TYGER off OTHER production companies when appropriate, and mention Zoe's interest, and occasionally someone asks to read a script.

Also meanwhile, I wrote up another action script for Ken's company, COUGAR or THE CURSE OF THE COUGAR, which would be a terrific lead for Zoe, I think. (I even named the lead character "Zoe Bull" just to have a name.) Ken and his people are looking at it, last I heard. But again, no one's asked Zoe her opinion.

If it sounds as if we're planning all sorts of projects for Zoe without consulting her, that's not really the case. Mostly we're not pestering her while waiting for something solid. And waiting, and waiting.

And that's where we're at.

Thanks for asking,

Clayton Emery"

Who is Ken Penders

Zoë Bell Fans Community:

Just writing to find out if there is any changes or updates on whether or not Tyger Tyger will be made into a movie and if Zoë Bell is still involved in the project. I would appreciate a response- please note that any information you give will be shared with our community.

Ken Penders:

Sorry for the delayed response, but I've been really busy of late
trying to meet some deadlines.

At this time, the writer of TYGER TYGER - Clayton Emery - is in talks
with producers about turning his script into a film, but the budget
they're thinking of investing in would preclude Zoe's involvement in
anything but the stunts, as they don't believe she could open a
picture of this magnitude. (In fairness to Zoe, there are only half a
dozen women in Hollywood that investors would be comfortable with,
starting with Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock, so it's not like Zoe
is being singled out from the pack.)

That's not to say that TYGER TYGER could end up as the low budget
project it was initially envisioned, which would allow Zoe to
topline, or that Zoe could star in another script Clayton has under
consideration by other producers. Right now, getting ANY project off
the ground in Hollywood takes a lot of time and perseverance. At the
moment, I'm involved in a film project as storyboard artist that is
on hold at the moment due to the lead actress deciding to pull out as
she didn't like how the contract negotiations with the investors were
going. So that leaves the production company scrambling to find a
replacement or risk seeing the project fall apart for the third or
fourth time since I've been involved.

What also hurts Zoe is that her first time out as a featured star in
a film which happened to flop badly. Though she wasn't responsible
for the poor box office results, she can't make the case she added to
the final result either, as Hollywood is a very unforgiving town when
it comes to the bottom line.

If I have any further info, I'll pass it along.

Best,
Ken Penders

Since Deathproof it's been all go and there are a few more months of it to go. I tried responsing to someone's email request but it bounced - re getting emails to Zo. Send them to me and I'll forward them for her to read.  Don't expect any responses as she just doesn't have the time. However, she really appreciate this journal and says thanks.

ALSO

It was reported a while back that Ms. Bell served as a regular stunt double on the ABC thriller "Alias" -- unfortunately I haven't come across anything on the net so far.

If anyone has information/photos/video/etc in regard to her gymnastics between 1989-1991 & her performance on Alias, please share!
