Spike's list of the Top 10 Chicks That Kick Ass

10. Karen 0/Karen Lee Orzolek
9. Megan Fox
8. Meghan McCain
7. Sienna Miller
6. Ashley Force

5. Zoe Bell

Zoe Bell has a lot of things going for her, the main ones being that she’s hot as hell and she’s a stunt woman. How many stunt women do you know who can double for Uma Thurman – and look hotter than her during her scenes? Well, Zoe pulled it off in Kill Bill parts one and two, and she even played her own badass self in Tarantino’s Death Proof. Here’s a woman who can kick a guy’s ass and then tantalize him with hers. She knows how to do more than just make jumping and falling look good: she’s studied Taekwon-do since she was 15 and learned to fight in the wushu style during the making of Kill Bill. She brings the pain, and it’s delicious.

4. Angelina Jolie
3. Michelle Obama
2. Gina Carano
1. Venus and Serena Williams

I think the top half of the list is good, but that certain entries in the bottom half totally invalidate the whole thing. Also, despite being totally true, Zoë's entry is a bit disingenuous, considering Spike will soon be airing Angel of Death. Not that I mind a little cross-promotion when it comes to Zoë. Her picture is, indeed, kickass. "Bring it, bitches. I'm in heels and a dress and I'll STILL make you weep, fools."

Stunt double in The Proposal?

Zoë is listed as a stunt double at UpcomingHollywoodMovie.com. The only person I could think of who'd need a double is Sandra Bullock in the scene where she...well, it's not a stunt-heavy movie.

Thoughts, anyone?

Telecom has admitted that the TV ad featuring stuntwoman Zoe Bell being dropped into the ocean while strapped inside a shipping container is fake and the phone calls were never made.

Well, duh. The important question here is, was she really in the container when they dropped it??? Inquiring minds want to know.

RIP
I realize this has nothing to do with ZB but it does have to do with a co-star in a series of films she stunted for.

Rest in peace, David Carradine (Kill Bill)

What a gem of a find! Yes, it's old but I've never seen it :) Perhaps you haven't as well? Give it a look..

Excerpt:

"Angel, which stars stuntwoman Zoe Bell as an assassin (see our review and our interview with Bell), was produced by Sony’s Crackle.com and debuted in March. The 10-part series was a hit online and by last count had generated 4.8 million plays — a strong showing for a drama.

Spike will air all 10 episodes as a 90-minute movie on July 25, three days before it will be released on DVD."

Season 2 of Angel of Death?

Quoting relevant parts of the article:

Sony’s television division has repackaged its Web series Angel of Death as a full-length movie, a new strategy to make Internet productions profitable by airing them on television and by selling DVDs.

The 10-episode action thriller, first shown on the company’s Crackle.com video site in March, will air as a 90- minute film July 25 on Viacom’s Spike TV, and a DVD will be in stores July 28, Eric Berger, who oversees digital networks at Sony Pictures Television, said in an interview two weeks ago.

To be profitable, the show must meet ratings expectations on Spike and sell well in stores, in addition to the ad sales on Crackle.com, Mr Berger said.

Sony, which spent about $1 million making Angel of Death, is developing a second season.

Episodes [of Angel of Death] have been shown 5 million times online since its release.

Angel of Death DVDs, priced at about $25, will be carried by retailers including Best Buy Stores and Target.

The movie was given a midnight time slot after editing for basic cable, John Griffin, who oversees acquisitions and programming at Spike, said last month in an interview.

The XT Mobile launched today in NZ (and yes, my phone is almost in my hands... can't WAIT for tomorrow). Zoe's ads have been playing heaps, I think in an hour, it has played about 4 times already. But here it is!

A bit of old gossip, and a question.

Gossip first, from May 11:
"At Sale St bar on Tuesday night, Kiwi stuntwoman Zoe Bell was Spy-ed holding court with a large group of friends who gathered to farewell her before she heads back overseas."
[Source]

And the question:
So comparatively, how much more famous is Zoë Bell in New Zealand than in America? My sense of her celebrity is totally skewed from being a fan, but most of my friends don't know who she is, except for the handful that saw Grindhouse. And now she's in ads for Telecom's XT network, along with Richard Hammond, who I think is relatively well-known even outside of the UK for Top Gear. Thoughts?

Stuntwoman Zoe Bell has joined the big-spending ad campaign for Telecom's XT Network.

"At one stage they showed two upcoming Telecom ads - both with Richard Hammond, one featuring NZ stuntwoman Zoë Bell and the other a jetsprint driver."

If anyone comes across video or pictures of ZB's TV ads please share! Thanks!
