zine/bookmaking online resources
I happened upon some websites that have tools that might be handy for making zines and little books.  I haven't used any of these yet, but I think they could have potential!

BookletCreator is an online tool which allows you upload a pdf file and have it reformatted into an 8 page booklet.

PocketMod is an online tool which helps you make a little booklet which looks an awful lot like a Teeny Tiny style mini book.

PagePacker is a freeware program for Mac which is like the PocketMod with a little more functionality, like being able to incorporate pdf files as pages in your tiny book.

I have always just done cut-and-paste for my zines/books and am mostly happy with that, but it might be fun to experiment with these tools--and other tools, for that matter, if you read this post and want to share other stuff you've seen online along this line!

PDFLab for the Mac seems pretty good in terms of organising your pages.

I also downloaded Scribus for DTP, which I am enjoying so far.
