Dear Free Spirit,
I'm trying to reply to your request for a zine trade for one of my Twilight World for yours. Unfortunatley, since your account is 'friends only', it won't send it. So you PM your mailing address and I'll send you mine.
Thanks for the interest, Don-O

Hi!! This is my first post to this community. I've been reading for a while and love it.
I'm working on my first real-actually-gonna-do-it-this-time zine type project, and I have no idea what to charge for it. I recently graduated from an awesome alternative school called Upattinas where basically all I did was sit in the art room and make art all day, including visual journals. The last one I made was based in dream work; I recorded all my dreams after waking up and made a page about each dream.
So! I had several friends express interest in buying this book from me but I definitely wasn;'t going to give it up, so I'm working on making a reproduction on it. It's slightly smaller than half size, since I started with an odd sized book, in full color, and made with high quality copies. None of it has been printed off a computer - it's all been copied at Kinkos on their color copier. It's 19 pages long plus a color cover.
How much would you expect to pay for a zine like this? It's slightly unorthodox so I haven't really found anything to compare it with. I'd like to find other people who would be interested in it, as well, through this community and other places.

Sorry if this post is a problem for any one or the moderators, if so, just delete it. Thanks :]
Alright, folks, I know I don't update this very often, but I'm coming to you guys with a plea for help.
As some of you know, I recently traveled up to Philadelphia, PA, and opened up a squat with a few friends. Currently, we're on our second month not-so-"legally" occupying the house. There are four humans and 2 dogs, all of whom are broke and unemployed. It's quite fun! We ride our bikes, do construction work on the space, and volunteer with various organizations. For example, tomorrow I start my first day working with the StopMax campaign, writing letters of solidarity to prisoners trapped with in america's injustice system.
I'm also still working on a few (ah!) zines, which is where the problem comes in: Recently, a friend and I hitched from Philadelphia up to Brattleboro, VT for Next Level Shit Day, which was essentially a day long gathering of folks for music, parades, free foods, and box car parties. We wanted a period of sharing hope, ideas, support, and acting out how our day-to-day lives can be if anarchy actually becomes our reality.
While at a show, I picked up my pack to head outside, forgetting I had left my craft bag sitting on top. I've had this craft bag for three years, and included all of my zine-making materials: glue sticks, rubber cement, scissors, x-acto knives, etc. & I lost it. Of course I'm bummed, as alot of things in the bag had various amounts of nostalgic value, but also, now I'm kind of held back from working on any of my projects, especially my zines.
Like I said before, I live mostly for free... no stable employment, and I generally try to create things like bags and notebooks to sell. I scrounge change from couches in coffee shops and book stores in order to make copies of my zines and afford stamps. I dont really have money to afford any materials.
So here's what I'm asking: If anyone has extra scissors, glue, or any sort of craft stuff lying around and would like to donate them to the "Help Bernard Complete Her Zine Fund," I would be extremely grateful. In exchange, I can send stamps, various zines, and patches, along with a copy of all the zines your contribution would help me finish.
Let's put Mutual Aid in to Action! Email me at trollgirlcentral@gmail.com or comment here if you would like to help me out!
Thanks, Love, & Solidarity- bernard?

♥ HAPPY INTERNATIONAL ZINE MONTH! ♥ In celebration of the first International Zine Month, July 2009, I have lowered the prices on all zines in my Etsy shop to $1. Neat!
Little Acorns is my contribution to the 24-Hour Zine Thing. From start to finish, first little bangs on the typewriter keys to a trip to the photocopy shop, this zine was completed within a 24-hour time period.

I just got copies of List #13

List #13 is, for lack of better terms, the break up issue. it's about dealing with a lost love in a new city while trying to figure out how to call it home. from the intro: "...so this issue is the good, the bad, and the random. it's heartbreak, loneliness, change, new beginnings, moving on while still holding on to the ounce of hope that he'll be overcome by some movie-like revelation and realize that we're meant to be. and of course, it's lots of rover, my dog and faithful sidekick, the one constant in my life that i know will be there for me..."
prepare to be bummed out but hopefully also a little entertained. it's a whopping 66 half-sized pages, with light purple cardstock covers. this issue only contains ramsey's lists and guestlists. the found list section had to be cut due to too many pages! list zine is filled only with autobiographical lists and illustrations to go with them!
examples of lists from this issue are: things that weren't part of the plan, (or how moving to chicago gave me bad luck), darby the dog, weird things about public transit, things i could do to get out of here, things i've always wanted to do, things i've never wanted to do, and many more.
list #13 is $3 or $4. I'd like to charge $4 consistently, since it's thick, but I feel guilty about it. So sliding scale is fine. haha. you can paypal to everydaypants@gmail.com or comment or e-mail the same e-mail address to find out how to send cash via the mail. ( examples pages! )

| Freehand #3 submissions |
[01 Jul 2009|10:49am] |
I just extended the deadline for submissions for my litzine, Freehand. It was originally today, but I extended it another month to July 31, 2009.
I'm looking for stories and poems about anything. The last two issues I had a theme going ("New beginnings" and "A flight of fancy", respectively), but I'm trying out NOT having a theme.
If you're interested, check out the submissions page! Thanks!

[01 Jul 2009|09:51am] |
I have 5 grab bags to offer for postage costs. I have packed 5 U.S. Postal Service flat-rate envelopes with zines. All of these grab bags just contain of hodgepodge of zines. Titles will be provided upon request. They all contain at least 9 zines. I regret to inform that I cannot accept PayPal; I can only take U.S. cash, American postage (unused), a money order, or some combination thereof. I am willing to show a measure of trust and ship after receiving half payment, because I realize that without using PayPal, people would have to trust me. I am willing to pay for tracking. Postage rates: $4.80 U.S. $9.95 Canada/Mexico $11.95 elsewhere

| Calling all geeks and Golden Girls fans! |
[30 Jun 2009|04:00am] |
A friend of mine and myself recently finished the first (and possibly only) issue of our new zine, "Miami, You've Got Style!" The concept behind it is that we took screen captures of every outfit worn during the first season of Golden Girls and wrote commentary on them. But it turns out that it is really hard to write specific commentary on that number of outfits, so a lot of them are us talking about Lord of the Rings or Star Trek. You can find out more about it at our website, http://miamiyouvegotstyle.com/ where we also provide you with a sample of the first three episodes worth of material.
If you like what you see but don't want to pay for shipping, we will be selling copies at Portland Zine Symposium in July.
Enjoy!

Hi, I'm Nine. I'm based in Scotland and I write a zine called If Destroyed Still True.
The next issue is still a work in progress, but meantime I've got a split mini-zine which I created with Jessie, my couchsurfing host in Sydney. The subject is scars (not related to self-harm or violence, if you're concerned about potential triggers). It's called Refigure.

Copies are free if you're buying any of my other zines anyway; or else I'm just asking for a little compensation for postage. >> paypal at jinxremoving dot org
Cheers!

Culture Slut is a perzine all about feminism, adventures and love. Fight Boredom is a comp zine all about small-town life and, uh, fighting boredom. You can purchase these zines at my Etsy shop, Paypal to polaroid.panic@gmail.com or mail well-concealed cash to:
Amber Forrester 10124 Ave. Hébert #8 Montréal, Québec H1H 3W6 Canada
I've reduced the prices of all my zines by 50% until August 1st, 2009. Most zines are only a dollar, some are even less. My full-colour Polaroid photography zine has been reduced to three dollars. Now is the time to pick up a copy if you haven't already! Soon I'll be adding some ephemera packs and vintage Polaroid cameras to the mix. I've reduced the prices in order to celebrate the "holiday" and encourage more people to get into the zine scene. For more zine-y goodness, you can check out my blog here. It's got zine reviews a-plenty and updates on my own work. Enjoy!
What are you doing to celebrate International Zine Month?

| Virgin #1 |
[25 Jun 2009|10:01pm] |
|
Virgin #1 is about my experiences and thoughts on being a 19 year old virgin. The first half is a brief history of my ‘love’ life so far and how I got to where I am. The second half covers a range of my thoughts, specifically struggling to find my place in the LGBT community and the reaction of my friends. “I’m writing the zine I wanted to read. I read zines for two reasons; to learn and to relate. Basically I’m not getting any and never have had any. This doesn’t really bother me, but it bothers the rest of the world, and that reaction DOES bother me.” 1/4 sized, 18 pages, relatively text heavy UK: £1 including postage Europe: £1.25/1.50euros including postage Rest of World: £1.60/$2.60 Paypal to: virginzine@gmail.com I’d also be happy to trade. Please email or comment with your email for a postal address. (sorry for x-posting)
