Hi everyone, I'm new here (including LJ ._.) so I would like to introduce myself. My name is Monica, but please call me Raga, I've been into ZADR for over year. Yeah, I'm a young one here but a happy young one :3
Before joining here I read the entries and I'll answer some random questions made a while ago, to know me better.
"Post a song (or more than one) that makes you think of Zim, Dib, or their relationship."
Mmmm... For those fanfics that follow the canon story line, especially angst stories, I relate them with: When the World Ends [Oakenfold Remix] by Dave Matthews Band in Matrix Reloaded: The Album Disc 1. For AU, it would be a very specific for each case, for example: For BRB suicide it would be Swim from Madonna's Ray of Light
"So who do you recon would be the dominant in the ZADR?"
Many will virtually hit me, others will support me but I like to think of Zim as an asexual being which leaves the "dominant" position to Dib. Yes, Zim would be the "uke" but a very aggressive and possessive uke, no one would like to mess with his property ._.; But I don't like to see an over-submissive Zim or Dib, it just breaks the rivalry scheme. On 8th of October Kyoudai_koibito posted My Egotistical Romance ff, it's a perfect example of the behavior I like them to have.
"People just read it for the graphic sex, don't they?"
Actually, I rather plot over smut. Too much smut bores me to death and, sadly, sometimes I delete those stories from my favorites. It has happen to me many times when the story promised a lot at the beginning but at some point the author forgets completely about where the story was supposed to go, spoiling it irremediably. I don't know, what do you say?
I don't remember when someone commented: "Someone really needs to write a fic about Zim and Holograph Simulation Dib." Has anyone done it yet? I think it's a very interesting idea. I wish I could try but at the moment I'm 100% focused on "Against Probabilities" (a ff I'm writing and eagerly hope to post soon XP) Mmm... maybe in the future but... (?)

Obviously I'm new to this community so introductions are in order! I have been stalking the entries here for about a year, and enjoyed every min of seeing how creative you guys can be. XE I'm just now trying to write fan-fiction after drawing anime style for so long and has decided that I shall use this particular fandom as an excuse for complete and utter RANDOMNESS! ~ <3 Technically I've known about the Invader ZIM show for a while but I've only watched two episodes. The first one scared me so bad that I didn't watch it for about 5 years (it's the one where Dib gets turned inside-out). XD
I'll probably put Invader ZIM pics up for you all besides my crapy writing skills, and as a show of good faith, I shall do two things.

SUMMARY: How did it come to this?
DISCLAIMER: Invader Zim belongs to the crankypants himself, Jhonen "Don't Call Me Johnen" Vasquez, whose belly I strive to make ill, despite my love for his work.
WARNINGS: Cartoonish but deadly weaponry; amateur spelunking (and no, that's not a euphemism); gratuitous terrain description; rebirth imagery like anvils; character death. NOTES: I'm going to warn you right now: the first scene of this chapter is the last of the happy-fluffy-slashtastical you'll see for awhile. Everything kind of goes to hell in this chapter. I'll also warn you that the next chapter will be an interlude between parts. I'm dividing the story into two parts, and this one marks the end of the first. More alterna-geography: the Slapfish River is the Frasier; Otterburg is Vancouver; the town of Prize is fictional in any 'verse, but it lies just North of a little nowhere-town called Hope B.C. All the spelunking and flying-about action occurs in and over the Coastal Mountains. Thankyou to everyone who commented, and sorry about the wait. It might be awhile until the next couple chapters come out, because I need to get a handle on some structure stuff for the interlude, and I need to sort out the story arc for Part II. CROSSOVER: Invader Zim/Johnny the Homicidal Maniac
SUMMARY: How did it come to this?
DISCLAIMER: Invader Zim belongs to the crankypants himself, Jhonen "Don't Call Me Johnen" Vasquez, whose belly I strive to make ill, despite my love for his work.
WARNINGS: Once again, references to sexual acts between two male-shaped characters. The references in this chapter are more overt, even crude, but there is still no play-by-play porn. Because I cannot, for the life of me, write it.
NOTES: I know I said I was aiming for Tuesdays, but I finished this early and am, in fact, horribly impatient. Also, the song is called "Another Sunday," so updating on a Sunday may look intentional. It's all deliberate. Really.
I'm really iffy about original characters in fanfiction – it's hard to pull off gracefully. Elite Soldier Drylow doesn't have a huge part, but I hope he's at least mildly entertaining. He is, essentially, a fanboy. A great big Tallest fanboy. Oh Drylow.
"Spuzzumland" is, in this universe, a country comprised of British Columbia, Alaska and most of the U.S. northwest. I know Jhonen was big on not referring to actual, our-universe places, so this is in keeping with that. There is an actual place in British Columbia called Spuzzum. It also happens to sound like a Zimverse-esque name, so in here it's the capital of its own coastal country. Hoorah for Spuzzum.
The final scene is in list form because because I have a weakness for messing with story structure, and in particular a weakness for lists. It's rare for me to make it through a story without including a list. I also spent most of the final scene laughing at how ridiculous it was, which makes me think I'm missing the point of writing romance.
Thankyou to everyone who commented, and special thanks to Desdemona Kakalose, who suggested that Gaz be the artist behind "Johnny's" paintings. The one thing I couldn't connect between Dib and Johnny was the art, but I would believe Gaz got into art in high school.

WARNINGS: For once, actual warnings. This chapter contains references to interspecies foolings-about between two male-shaped characters. There is nothing graphically porntastic, but there's no way around it: here there be foreplay. Enjoy.
NOTES: Jeezy Chreezy, it's a seven thousand word chapter. And if I can get these notes done quickly, it'll even update on a Tuesday. That's my goal now – Tuesday means Tuesday Means UFOs.
You know what else is convenient about the Zimverse? Everything advanced can be explained away as "Vortian technology." Also, I'm pretty sure this chapter gives away my bizarre antenna fixation. It's like the fact that I focus on characters' hands. I don't even have a hand fetish.
Ten points to whoever gets the Monty Python reference later on.
Thankyou so much to everyone who commented on the last chapter. I'm thrilled to hear that the things I'm aiming for are working so far. For those who are waiting for more Nny connections: I realize they're sparse in this chapter, but sit tight. It'll come in more during the second plot arc, which should start in the next chapter or two.
Oh yeah, and I was going to work some implied RAPR into this chapter, until I realized that this story's worldrules don't allow for fullblood Irken romance. I guess if you tilt your head it's there. Maybe they cuddle and eat licorice ropes from opposite ends, Lady and the Tramp style.

I've been a bad host. I don't think I've posted here for months.
In any case, hello! We've got tons of new members and it seems that the summer has been inspiring creativeness. Either that or you're all too lazy to go outside.
Eh. Whatever it takes to produce more fan fiction and fan art. Keep it coming!
Who am I? Other than the one who created this community and can TAKE IT ALL AWAY AT MY WHIM.....I'm Wedge. I'm an artist living in Philly and attempting to make a career out of my sarcasm and general cynicism. I'm thinking about journalism.
After many attempts at writing I have discovered that I don't have the gift of word. Oh, I can speak my own version of English like the best of them. (and not only because I've dosed their drinks) But, writing is lost on me.
I embrace all the ZADR writers out there. I try to make comments on the stories as they pop up. If I've missed any, shoot me an email. Or post a message here. Fuck, if you're in Philly, stop by the coffee shop I work at and shove it in my face. Eventually I'll read it.

WARNING: Joke overextension (re: use of the word "suck"); budding misanthropy; the word "purple" as a verb; continued gratuitous em-dash use; criticism of North American public schools; repressed dominance fetish; extended interspecies lip-touching.
NOTES: This chapter is all about plot-seeding. For the arc I have in mind, I need three plots set up, and until now I've only established one. Oh hey look technical stuff that no one cares about.
The chapter also takes advantage of a convenient aspect of Zim-verse worldrules: all bit-characters will inevitably be assholes.
Chab suggesting that the girls make out to was totally the product of watching too much Black Books. And the façade of Mrs. Lovett's Pie Shop was because we were watching Sweeney Todd while I drafted. Much love and credit to both of these creative sources.
