It's July! Yep, missed a month of hey, Yulechat lives!, and still stupidly busy. But yes: YULECHAT LIVES. Join us! Writing is afoot; betas are out on the streets, making trouble. (We can also hook you up with chibi violence, because Yulechat is also about dedicated procrastination.)

So it's the height of the season, and for many a time for reveling, and for a hardcore bunch, the time to obsessively plan for Yuletide nominations.

I asked this during last year's nomination post: what are your book fandoms? Librarians on this side of the hemisphere are composing summer reading lists. Always wanted to nominate that whale of a tome or that interminable series? Plenty of time to settle into a book. Share your reading list! * )

Your Random Unfilled Request Of The Day:

Recipient: Blacksquirrel
Request: Brotherhood of the Wolf (Gregoire de Fronsac/Mani/Marianne de Morangias)
Details: Fronsac/Mani or Fronsac/Mani/Marianne. I love the synergy between the characters, but I'm also interested in potential areas of conflict between them (cultural, religious, one steals the covers - anything), and the way they resolve those differences. Alternately, how do they cope with the outside world's interpretation of their friendship and French attitudes toward native people. In a 3some, I'd like to read about an even relationship with three strong bonds - how Marianne could enter such a strong relationship.

Your Random Unfilled Request Of The Day:

Recipient: irishmizzy
Request: RPF - Gossip Girl (Chace Crawford/Ed Westwick/Leighton Meester)
Details: I really love the dynamics of Ed and Chace and Leighton (I mean, ROOMMATES, and that time everyone showed up hungover for the NY Magazine cover shoot, and how they're always hanging out with Ed's band and whatever, I just find it delightful). I don't know if you want prompts, but maybe something about how things have changed since they filmed the pilot, or even something silly about going to ridiculous parties together. Honestly, I'd love anything about this cast, I swear, so you don't have to stick with the three I requested if you don't want to. I'm game for any permutation, het, slash, gen, whatever, they're young and beautiful and in NYC and I will love anything about any of them.

Your Random Unfilled Request Of The Day:

Recipient: Helena Larkin
Request: Antonia Forest - Players series (Lord Essex/Lord Southampton)
Details: Well, in this case, it's young Lord Southampton who is My Beloved. I like the fact that he's immature, extremely emotional, sensitive, rash. I have to admit I love it when Nicholas mistakes him for a girl. The prettiness is definitely an attraction! I really find it rather heartbreaking that he's so faithfully in love with Essex, who is basically a bit of a bastard to him - I love the brief moments when Essex is actually nice. Harry deserves a bit of kindness, especially since it sounds like he probably didn't have the happiest life. A story set at any time either before or during the books would make me happy - again, I do favour hurt/comfort, but I'm also quite open-minded: certainly there's no single idea that I want more than anything else! Also, although I absolutely envisage this as a slash pairing myself, I'd be perfectly happy with emotional gen - or with a low rating and no sex! (Or with sex if that's what you'd prefer to write - I really don't mind at all, it's the emotion, love, tears, etc, that really does it for me.)

Your Random Unfilled Request Of The Day:

Recipient: hafital
Request: L Frank Baum - The Oz series (Dorothy/Ozma)
Details: Can be either gen or slash, perhaps more very close friendship than anything else. The girls together relying on each other in an adventure, loyalty, faith, love, strength, overcoming some temporary hardship and perhaps growing closer because of it. The tone of the story does not need to follow Baum's - I'd love to discover some of the darker, more realistic possibilities of Baum's stories and characters, but without making it hard core or having any non-con, or whips and chains or anything like that. I'm pretty vanilla in my tastes and would prefer not to be traumatized *g*, but at the same time I wouldn't mind finding some hidden depths with these characters, some character exploration, etc. If you choose to write explicit sex (and you certainly don't have to!), please make sure it doesn't seem like they're children.
