This has been an extraordinary fest. Our drop-out rate and pinch hitter requirements were so low, I was incredibly impressed not just by the artist turnaround time by almost everyone, but also the amazing quality of art produced. Artists: you amaze me with your dedication to this. Thank you!

Thank you to my co-mods bzzinglikeneon and itsbeenvery, who did all the gritty stuff that I was too lazy/disorganized to do! This fest, like the fanartist community, was a joint effort.

Wow! What an amazing couple of weeks it's been! All the art has now been posted and we're so happy to see the great response it's all been getting. Thank you to EVERYONE who participated! yuletart 2008 has been an astounding success and it's all thanks to you!

REVEALS!
We have decided to do the artists reveals on January 5th 2009.

It was originally intended to be earlier, but the Mods have decided to push the date back for a couple of reasons:

1) To give people a bit of time to peruse through the art and leave feedback, make recs etc while the art is still anonymous
2) Because Livejournal had a couple of server breakdowns over the holidays, we feel a little more feedback time would be reasonable

Artist notes: I hadn't even thought of The 10th Kingdom before getting the assignment but the moment I saw 'Wolf' I went "must do!" I had hoped to provide more of his costume (boots and a coat) but this season is kicking my ass. Which reminds me that many, many heartfelt thanks go to the very-patient-indeed mods. This is a combination of knitting with a bit of crochet, embroidery and needle felting. It's worked up in wool yarn, mohair yarn, cotton embroidery thread, leather cord, metal findings, and permanent marker. The belly of the wolf joins with the back of the man. Stuff the body of one into the body of the other, hook up the seam, for your own werewolf transformation whenever you like. Just mind the shepherdesses. (And I may have shorted Wolf, but it was very cold when I took the pictures.) I'd be happy to send adalanne the doll after reveals are up. :)
