So has anyone seen any English versions of chapter 63 ("Yotsuba & Playing"), the one that was published last month? I'm surprised the /azu/ites haven't done anything, or if they have I can't find it.
(It's a very cute chapter, btw, being another daddy/daughter doing-things-together episode: Yotsuba plays with her wooden blocks under Dad's desk, building (with much construction noise) a meal, which he obligingly helps eat -- after which she ropes him into hide-and-seek and then heading out to the playground together. With bonus Ena and Yotsuba being complete doofballs together.)

Volume 7 in English yay!
Not a bad job, though I'm a little started at the translation choice of "ranch" for the place-with-cows -- though with the added pages from the tankobon, that's otherwise a really excellent chapter. Yen used "Miss Stake" for Hiwatari's nickname, with a better explanation than the scanlation gave.
One unexpected discovery: chapter 43 has another appearance of "Dotty", Yotsuba's dot-eyed playmate from chapters 15 & 26 and the cart-pulling festival -- playing jumprope at the elementary school yard with her older sister when Yotsuba, Ena, and Miura arrive. I don't think she was there in the magazine scans.
ETA: Yup, double-checked -- in the magazine it was J. Random Girl jumping rope instead.

So after several months of not staying on top of raw releases and stuff, trusting scans to the members of /azu/, I guess I'm back. Not that they need my help, but it's always fun to work on these. But enough about me; chapter 62 showed up early yesterday morning and Ralen and I worked late into the night last night to bring you:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/me4mjmtzm wy/Yotsuba62_EN_ver2.rar
Enjoy!
In case you can't get to mediafire, it should show up on biz in a couple days; the site admin there usually allows a couple days for people to discuss the translation and for edits to be made.

A detail I only just noticed: in chapter 35 (& Recycling), the book Ena is reading while Miura is copying her homework is The Little Prince.
That's just so ... appropriate for her.

A post in a central location to list sightings of the English volume 6 in the wild -- and in captivity.
To start things off, Amazon has informed me that I should expect it to arrive on the 9th (at an address in the States). Anyone getting it earlier? Anyone spotted it in a store?

Four words: Yotsuba in a hoodie.
Your two-word response: SO CUTE!
Available in the usual places. Needless to say, given the hot air balloons, we also get a lot of wide-eyed Yotsuba gasps, but really, that's nothing compared to YOTSUBA IN A HOODIE. It really is turning Autumn in her world.
(In other news, expect Japanese volume 9 some time this fall and English volume 6 mid-September.)

New chapter scan is out. I'm mixed -- it's not much of a story (it's pretty much entirely set-up for the next chapter, which won't be out for two months) but I pretty much giggled the whole way through. And with it as the set-up, we finally get a clue where the currently-being-created volume is headed.
The guests of the title are all three Ayase sisters, btw. I am impressed by Fuka's building skills, even if no one else is.

News here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/conventi on/2009/new-york-comic-con/yen-press
It was announced at New York Comic Con today. Volume 6 will be released in September 2009.
(To editorialize, I haven't noticed any issues with Yen having vast slippage in release dates, so if they say 9/09, it will be out then.)

New chapter out yay! Available in the usual places. Jumbo takes the gang out for yakiniku -- so, yes, lots of Yanda-Yotsuba banter for those who like that. (I swear, that guy's like a kindergartner tugging a girl's pigtails.) Interestingly, Yanda is avoiding alcohol, though why isn't made clear, and so gets stuck as designated driver. The chapter's full chock-full of tangent-filled conversation that sounds like, well, three guys chatting over dinner. Excellent.
Of note to the pedantic, we get a hard date with this one: 10 October. This means my compacted timeline guess from the detailed readthrough was, in fact, correct. Ha.
And in the Yotsuba Developments department: a) Jumbo's right to complement her reading, which has been getting better, and b) Yotsuba's starting to use chopsticks for real. Not that her technique is perfect, but she's using them like tongs instead of a joined pair of sticks she twirls things around. Her actual tong technique needs practice, though.

New chapter's out in the usual places. In which Yotsuba goes next-door to introduce Duralumin to Ena. The through-line of the plot is kinda random -- though I suppose the number of ways Yotsuba gets distracted could be considered a unifying theme -- but there's several laugh-out-loud moments.
In some ways, Yotsuba is right -- coffee is a cruel joke on the world's children.

Chapter 57 scans are out, available in the usual places -- with another couple firsts for Yotsuba, including one I was not expecting for our little bundle of energy. Complete with picking up a thread that started back in chapter 10. "She'll be carrying that home" -- oh, does Koiwai know his girl.
Also, I love how Ena hijacked the "story so far" summary.
BTW, there's rumors that ADV's volume 6 might finally appear early next year. Rumors as in, appearing in certain sales catalogs -- Amazon hasn't updated their listing, though.
